Setup & Design: Genuinely plug-and-play. No drilling, no plumbing, no calling a handyman. Fill the back tank, plug it in, flush the filters per the manual, and you’re dispensing within 20 minutes. The footprint is reasonable for a 4-stage RO + UV system — smaller than I expected. The TDS readout on the front is a nice touch; ours dropped from ~180 ppm tap to single digits within the first few pours. Water Quality: This is where it earns the price. The 4-stage filtration (sediment → carbon → RO membrane → post-carbon) plus UV sterilization produces water that tastes noticeably cleaner than Brita-style pitchers. No chlorine taste, no metallic edge. The pH+ feature adds back minerals so the water doesn’t taste flat the way pure RO water often does. Dispensing: Multiple temperature presets are useful — instant hot for tea, room temp for drinking, and adjustable volume. The hot water is genuinely fast (under 5 seconds), which replaced our kettle. What to Know Before Buying: • Like all RO systems, it produces wastewater. The drain tank fills up and needs to be emptied — not a dealbreaker but worth knowing. • Filter replacements add to long-term cost; budget for that. • It’s not silent when filtering, but it’s quieter than a dishwasher. Verdict: Excellent fit if you rent, can’t install under-sink plumbing, or want clean water without committing to a permanent system. The combination of RO + UV + remineralization at this price point is hard to beat. Would buy again. Review: Great Value and Better Tasting Water for Everyday Use - I purchased this SimPure water pitcher in November 2025 and overall I’m very happy with it. The water tastes much better and cleaner, and it has helped me reduce bottled water use at home. The pitcher is easy to use, easy to refill, and the design fits well in the refrigerator. What I like most is that the filtration is fast enough for daily use and the filters are reasonably priced compared to other brands. The plastic also feels decent quality and not too flimsy. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I wish the filter lifespan indicator and pouring design were a little more refined, but overall it has been a very good purchase for the price. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an affordable everyday water filtration option. ## Features - WATER TASTE COMPARISON WITH TAP WATER: The Y9A water filter system uses advanced reverse osmosis technology, followed by a post-mineralization filter that adds essential minerals like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). This enhances the taste of the water while promoting better hydration and increases to 50-80 ppm after mineral addition. - SIDE-TANK VS REAR-TANK WATER FILTER DIFFERENCES: The side-placed water tank allows for refill without moving the entire system away from the wall or cabinet. The transparent tank design provides visible water level indication, making it easier to monitor the remaining water volume. Traditional RO water filter countertop with rear-placed tanks require pulling the unit forward to access the tank for refilling and offer limited visibility of water levels. - APARTMENT INSTALLATION COMPATIBILITY: The water filtration system measures 14" x 9.3" x 14.3" and requires 18 inches of vertical clearance. These dimensions allow placement under standard kitchen cabinets. No plumbing required—simply place on a countertop, fill the side-mounted water tank, and connect to a standard electrical outlet. Suitable for apartments, RVs, dorms, offices, small kitchens, and travel setups. - WATER PRODUCTION SPEED: No waiting for water. The 300 GPD reverse osmosis water filter produces approximately 4.4 ounces in 10 seconds under standard conditions (60 psi, 77°F)—fill an 8-ounce glass in 18 seconds. Most countertop RO systems only produce 50-75 GPD, taking over 1 minute to fill the same glass. Production rate varies with inlet pressure and water temperature. - CONTAMINANT REDUCTION CAPABILITIES: The RO membrane features a 0.0001 μm pore size. The 6-stage filtration reduces TDS concentration by up to 99.88%. Measured reduction includes PFAS/PFOA/PFOS, lead, chlorine, nitrates, fluoride. Note: ALK post-filter adds essential minerals back, which may raise TDS levels. This is normal for remineralization. Refer to SGS test report for detailed filtration performance. Reduction performance varies based on inlet water quality and system usage. - FILTER REPLACEMENT FREQUENCY: Filter replacement is recommended every 6 months for PPC/ALK filters, every 9 months for RO filter. Actual filter life varies based on inlet water quality and maintenance frequency. The water purifier has indicator lights that display when each filter requires replacement. - OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE MAINTENANCE: Daily: replace water in feed water tank with tap water. Monthly: run built-in Flushing function to flush system. Absence more than a week, empty tank and drain machine. Store in dry place, avoid sunlight. Absence over 3 months: drain, dry, and wrap the RO filter in plastic wrap before refrigerating (36-41℉), and replace PPC/ALK filters before reuse, as prolonged inactivity may affect water quality. Refer to user manual for complete storage instructions. - SERVING USA SINCE 2006: Seattle, WA USA, SimPure dedicated in providing world-class quality of water filtration solutions. This prevents buildup and maintains filtration efficiency. Always replace with fresh water—never reuse or recycle. Essential for RO system operation. **Q: What’s the difference between Y9A and Y9T?** A: Y9A adds minerals to create smooth-tasting alkaline water ideal for daily drinking. Y9T removes all minerals to achieve near-zero TDS water, preventing scale in appliances like coffee makers. **Q: Why does the purified water still have TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)? Shouldn’t it be zero?** A: Non-0 TDS ≠ malfunction：Y9T reduces TDS to near-zero via unique filtration technology; Y9A will boosts TDS (10-30ppm) by remineralization for alkaline water, while and mineral content. (Final TDS depends on feed water quality) **Q: Can this Y9 Series filter remove fluoride or heavy metal?** A: Yes! Removes up to 99.89% of fluoride, verified by SGS. Effectively removes PFAS/PFOA/PFOS, lead, chlorine, nitrates, fluoride, and heavy metals (Pb/Hg/As/Cu). Refer to SGS report for details. **Q: How often do filters need replacement?** A: Filter replacement depends on your water quality and daily usage. Here's a practical guide based on real-world conditions **PPC-Filter:** Every 6 months **Main RO Filter:** Every 9 months **Alkaline Mineral Filter:** Every 6 months ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genuinely clean water without plumbing -surprisingly capable countertop *by A***I on April 27, 2026* We bought the SimPure Y9A as a no-installation alternative to an under-sink RO system, and after several weeks of daily use, it’s earned its spot on the counter. The setup was very simple since it’s a countertop system, and it started working right out of the box. My wife used to drink only bottled water before I bought this, but now she prefers drinking water from the SimPure system. She really loves it, which says a lot. The water tastes very clean and fresh, and you can tell that it’s filtering really well. Another thing I like is how fast it filters water compared to many other RO systems. The taste is great thanks to the remineralization, and we haven’t had any issues so far. Overall, it’s a really good product, and we’re very happy with it. Highly recommended if you want clean, great-tasting water without relying on bottled water. ## Frequently Bought Together - SimPure Y9A Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter, Alkaline Remineralization 300 GPD 6 Stage Purification, RO Water Filtration System, Super Fast Filtering Portable Water Purifier - SimPure Y9 Series ALK Filter Cartridges, 8 Months Replacement Cartridge (1 Pack) - 2024 All-New 4 in 1 Tds Meter Digital Water Tester - Accurate and Reliable TDS EC & Temp(°C,°F) Meter - 0-9990ppm - Professional Testing for Drinking Water, RO/DI System, Aquariums etc --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/717696087-y9a-uv-countertop-reverse-osmosis-water-filter-alkaline](https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/717696087-y9a-uv-countertop-reverse-osmosis-water-filter-alkaline) --- *Product available on Desertcart Cyprus* *Store origin: CY* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
