Instant Bond - Medium Jet Black

This Tightbond dark colored superglue is a perfect replacement for buying the expensive “Starbond“ wood/knot filler. Both work wonderfully, but with all of the woodworking projects I do, this new crack/knot/split sealer and gap filler is a game changer. The “Starbond” name brand does a great job, but it is much more expensive per ounce and takes longer to ship to my house. While looking online to purchase more Starbond, I found this Tightbond product and gave it a try. And in full transparency, I literally cannot tell a difference between the two, especially with the finished result. I’m never going back. Two things to keep in mind… you will want to purchase a bunch of the generic micro application tips that fit easily over the end of the Tightbond bottle. It provides very fine detailed control, and allows you to get into the crack to deposit the glue with much less mess. You will also want to get any aerosol spray adhesion activator which sets the glue quite quickly. It works great if you have a crack/split that extends through the end of the wood. Apply some painters tape over the end or side of the split/crack. Then insert the tiny application tube to fill the void with the glue against the tape. A quick spray or two of activator—and mild patience—allows the glue to solidify very quickly. This provides a retention wall for filling the rest of the crack without having it leak out. Using this Tightbond product completely changes your project’s strength, use, and appearance. “Gap filler” is replaced by “structural integrity” and gives the wood some complimentary design along with the natural wood grain. The addition of adhesive activator helps it dry extremely fast and it is very easy to use and cleanup. I’ve already purchased more and will always have this in my shop. Please see my pics and video.

Viel besser als epoxy, erst recht beim trocknen

An affordable black colored CA glue! I wish titebond would release this in a thin and thick variation as well. The medium works for filling small voids/worm holes but you need some patients for it to seep in. It also protrudes every time so a variant that dries flat would be amazing. That said, it sands easily and looks good. A great addition to the garage! I've used it on several projects over the last 3 months and it still hasn't dried up in the bottle.
