Anyone who has read any of the Dear America or My Name is America books knows how well researched these books are and the royal diaries are no exception. My only wish is that they continued writing more books for the series. The Lady of Ch'iao Kuo takes a look into a rare time in Chinese history where a woman not only ruled, but ruled well and thrived. She was a rare exception of her time and proved to her people and her enemies that she was not to be underestimated and her people grew and flourished under her rule. This book gives a glimpse into what her life may have been like and what challenges faced her future.

This was 1 of several books in a series that I bought for my nieces. My mom grew up with these books and in her stead I ordered this entire set. These stories are all about women roll models and strong women through history. I would definitely recommend the stories. As for the condition…the book was not in the greatest condition. It had obviously been loved and most likely in a child’s library. All in all these are great stories and I would definitely recommend them!!!!

Very engaging story, great use of history to tell a tale.

Wonderful historical fiction. This series is presented so well, hardbound with gilt-edges, very well-made book. I look forward to reading more of these.

Was a gift

One of the better stories in the series. Not the best, but definitely good. Would recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction.

The book itself, that was written by the author, is great. He obviously put a lot of time and research into it. But the quality of the book was dismal and disappointing at best. First off, it was a former library book, which was never specified. Secondly, it was COVERED in various tapes and bar code, identification and library stickers. Thirdly, the inside is dirty. It looks like someone was eating Cheetos while they read it, and got the cheese dust all over the pages. It is conpletely and incredibly unsatisfactory. I love the Royal Diaries series and definitely recommend them to others as a very fun read. But I will NEVER buy from this seller again.

Ich habe mir sowohl dieses als auch das andere Buch (Les enquêtes du commisaire Sétout) gekauft, weil ich zur Zeit meine Französischkenntnisse auffrischen möchte. Davor habe ich bereits das Buch "Französisch für Büffelmuffel" durchgearbeitet.Da ich meine eigenen Kenntnnisse nicht so gut einschätzen konnte, dachte ich, fange ich erst mal klein an. Es hat sich aber als zu einfach für mich herausgestellt. Zwar hatte ich durchaus einige Wortschatzlücken, andererseits war ich mit den Geschichten innerhalb von einer halben Stunde durch.Beide Bücher enthalten drei Krimis, die ungefähr 20 Seiten lang sind (dieses Buch hat 63 Seiten, das andere 60). Wichtige Vokabeln sind im Text fett gedruckt und werden als Fußnote erklärt, wobei zur Aussprachehilfe das Wort auch in Lautschrift auftaucht.Lt. Langenscheidt eignet sich das Buch für Leser mit geringen Vorkenntnissen bzw. Lesern, die sich auf Niveau A1/A2 befinden (europäischer Referenzrahmen).

Bought at read with my daughter but really loved reading these when I was in Junior high so I thought that they would be worth the money to buy now that I have kids of my own.
