Fitsteps [DVD]

Great if you want exercise that doesn't feel like exercise!
I do not exercise, past walking the dog! However, I felt I needed something to keep the podge at bay, but it couldn't feel like exercise or I wouldn't enjoy and, subsequently never do it. This is perfect! Great music selections and with the low and high intensity versions I can mix and match depending on my mood, energy levels and time.Couple of suggestions, if I may be so bold!1. Bring out another one! Same kind of format but different dances, maybe tango, foxtrot, salsa and samba?2. Include an instructions/learning section in the dvd so we can perfect the steps before launching in to the workout. On a personal level, I'd also like to know if I'm doing each step correctly.3. Time the verbal instructions well, when transitioning from one step to the next. I found that until I got to know the routines, it was difficult to keep up. I'd be doing my kicks when the instructors were twisting because there was no instruction to change. Similarly, with the high intensity quickstep, an instruction came a full three steps ahead of the next move. Unless you are watching intensely, it's easy to miss! All in all though, I am delighted to have found something I actually find pleasure in doing! Thank you!

Fun and works you hard!
Having just started Zumba at my local village hall, I was looking for an exercise dvd that will give me the same type of "dance exercise" when I can't make the Zumba class. I'm a huge Strictly fan and thought this could be the dvd for me. I've tried to twice and it really does work you hard, I absolutely love it. The Quick step routines are really challenging and I have enjoyed learning the basic steps to each dance.I have even more respect for the professional dancers now as they have to be so fit to keep dancing like this. Ian and Natalie don't even break into a sweat!Only criticism would be that when they change the camera angle, at times the editing can make you lose a beat or two but that could be me getting confused.Good songs and a good workout. I'm going to look for my nearest Fit Steps class now...!

Fitsteps
Just tried this for the first time, and as someone who despises any kind of exercise, this was actually a lot of fun. I did find some of the steps a bit too technical, and could have done with more instruction before going into each dance style. That said, I don't have any dance experience whatsoever, but I imagine it gets easier the more you practice.. Plus it's only a workout DVD at the end of the day, noone's judging you if you get the steps totally wrong, as long as you're moving around it'll get the job done!I found it quite high intensity as there's not much rest time inbetween each dance but it's definitely manageable, and if you need a break I would just pause it for a minute. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, you definitely feel like you've had a good workout afterwards, the music is great and it's fun enough to distract you from the fact that you're exercising!

Good work out, bad editing
Really enjoy going to my fitsteps class so thought I'd buy the dvd to do extra at home. It's a good, fun workout but the editing isn't great because they cut to the dancers feet and they're doing something completely different to the move you're supposed to be on. I hope they bring out a second dvd with tango, rumba etc because if you've already been to the classes the dvd can be a bit easy/repetitive.Overall I would recommend this dvd if you want to keep fit while having fun and learning dance moves.

Great fun! Cheesy! Good for working up a sweat!
Just had one go at this DVD so far, but it instantly makes you smile, its cheesy and fun and i was sweating buckets after the jive and chachacha!! The steps arw a bit tricky at first as they don't show you them broken down but you can easily catch on by copying and im sure with practice you will remember the steps and routine :) Hoping they release asecond DVD with different dances, although i adore the waltz so really pleased it was on there :)

a poorly-made money-making DVD
I have a number of "exercise" DVDs and this one definitely comes at the bottom of the list in terms of production.Uninspiring set. Not easy to follow as you don't get clear instructions ahead of time, and there are times when they don't seem to know what they all should be doing. If the lead doesn't know which leg to put his hands on?!Just seems to be a hastily put-together DVD to throw out to the market to get some cash in.They needed to watch some better DVDs, like from the pro Rosemary Conley, to see how it should be done.

Such Fun!
If you currently go to a fit steps class (which I love), this dvd is fabulous as it fits right in at home and you will already know the steps!I love the fact that this dvd does not waste time going over the steps, (apart from basic 10) and you can choose your own pace intermediate or high intensity. (Haven't exercised since well before Xmas and found intermediate for my heart rate right up there). However If you haven't been to a class, well, unless you already know a few dance steps this may not be the dvd for you!I hope this is the first of many dvds in to come Natalie and Ian, as I hate exercise but love dancing, (albeit not very well) I particularly love this genre! Salsacise that kind of thing, decent dvds are hard to come by (recommendations welcome!)Dancing with Ian Waite = tick, hooray!Body like Natalie Lowe = yes please! but not yet - maybe one day if I keep doing this dvd!!

A really enjoyable and effective workout!
This is my new favourite workout! The steps are really fun and very easy to learn, and the music is great!I also love the DVD because I can easily fit a good workout into my schedule. If I want a longer workout, I do both the low intensity and high intensity sections, and if I want a shorter workout, I just do the high intensity portion. If I am feeling quite tired, I just do the low intensity section.I love a good dance aerobic workout, and this one really gets my heart rate up! This isn't really a resistance/muscle training workout though, and while you do use your muscles while you're dancing, I only use this on my aerobic days. There are already plenty of workout DVDs that focus on weight training, so I love how this one just focuses on burning lots of calories!
