Equus: Tim Flach Hardcover – 1 Oct. 2008

I know Tim Flach from his dog photography. So when I saw this book, I thought I would buy it, as it was very reasonably priced.This is a wonderful book. The images are exceptionally high quality, and they look wonderful. The book covers various situations and includes studio portraits, on-location photography and even some shots of the foal in the womb. The book also has various types of equine, including donkeys, zebras, and mules. There are also a variety of different horse breeds shown within the book.The book's quality is very high, with good paper and high-quality prints. There are a couple of pages where you can't quite open the page fully, but this is not a major concern.I really have no issue giving this book five stars. The quality is very high, and I very much enjoyed looking at the images.

Beautiful book.The photos are stunning and presented in a high quality book.

Tim Flach's intention was to carry on where Stubbs left off with the horse, and he has truly succeeded. He is a very good man as well as one of the best animal photographers in the world, and this book made my mother and my daughter, both a little horse mad, extremely happy. I have not heard my mum so enthusiastic about a book for years. It was the best present I have ever given her, she says. Though you don't have to be a horse fanatic to love this book. Photographers can learn much from his brilliant use of outdoor flash balanced with natural light, and his expressive use of framing and significant detail to inspire narrative in the viewer. He is not just another photographer, he is a true artist.

I have to apoligise for the previous review. This was my opinion as a none horsey type person. I purchased this for my Niece as a Cristmas present. She has a large stable and has 12 horses including Arabs. She and her Daughter absolutely loved the book and raved about it. I as a non horsey person obviously did not appreciate this book and my apologies to the author for my previous comments

Bought this for my 1 and a half year old son who loves horses. I guess he is far from the target audience of this book but he loves it as does my 3 year old. I would never buy a book like this for myself but actually found the photos nice to look at, certainly more than an encyclopedia of horses book we got from the library!

Stunning photos. A good condition book that is a fraction of the new price

I bought this for my friend for Christmas. It was so nice I was tempted to keep it ! Absolutely stunning photography of horses in a way I have never seen them captured before. Not a run of the mill book of equine images but the type of collection you will go back to time and time again and enjoy showing friends and family.

This is actually the second time I've bought this book. I bought it first for my wife and was so impressed I subsequently bought it for my friend as a gift. If you have an equine interest you'll love this beautiful and interesting book.

Splendida pubblicazione su un animale tra i più belli, il cavallo. Inutile descrivere le foto presenti, sono spettacolari. La qualità della carta è straordinaria così come i colori, vividi e vibranti. Un libro da sfogliare spesso e volentieri. Attenzione alle dimensioni! Sembra (almeno io credevo fosse così) un libro molto voluminoso, ma nonostante la misura diversa da come mi immaginavo sono molto soddisfatta. È in Inglese, ma certamente non è di quei libri…da leggere, quindi anche chi non parla questa lingua può apprezzarlo senza dubbio. Anyone who loves horses will love this special collection from the magic lens of Tim Flach. Being especially fond of donkeys, it was a pleasant surprise to see some of these gentle creatures included. I was not disappointed, and am only sorry I waited to add this book to my personal library. It's a treasure!
