Easy to use. Works with Mac or Windows (8) Has coll software and covers plenty of formats. Very portable and attractive.
I have bought 2 and will as the need arises buy more. The trend to lighter ultraportable computers has meant that optical drives are not included. My daughter uses one for watching BluRay in her dorm and storing huge quantities of data from her course work and backs up her photos etc. Works with Window 8 or Mac has enough features that should meet the needs of most people. It is a very attractive design has some interesting software and is very portable. I highly recommend this. Great features and price.

Easy to use.
Using it solely for loading software onto a laptop and for creating repair and recovery disks. Single connection cable for power and data works fine. Hooked it up straight out of the box and had no problem. Light weight. What more is there to say? It is a commodity and should work for my basic tasks.

Samsung 6X Slim Blu-ray Writer USB External Drive, SE-506BB/TSWD (White)
I was a little leary about ordering this because I was used to the earlier version (SE-506AB/TSWD) which is no longer available so I wasn't sure how this Blu-ray Writer would react. I was very happy that it performed exactly as advertised.

Bad drivers, crappy bloatware
Interesting product I use it with my HP Stream 8 tablet and Anker 7 port USB hub, adds a lot of functionality to the tablet. I installed it without a hitch, then proceeded to load up the bundled software (Free) Cyberlink Power DVD 10 and a slew of cyberlink softwrare on Windows 8.1 and it all went south after that. Bad drivers, crappy bloatware, throw away the disc unless you are running XP or maybe Vista. I proceeded to uninstall all the software including any personal settings and Win 8.1 recognized the Blu-ray Writer again. The reason I really like the product and gave it four stars, is that once you trash the crappy software, you are left with solid Hardware that works well everything else right out of the box, iTunes, VLC, ImgBurn and most every opensource alternative to the Power DVD 15's, Nero's of this world.

Incredible device
Much better than the external drive from Apple. This works on a USB hub. It plays and records anything I want to. The software available is still rudimentary. However, I keep being amazed by what I can do.

It works...thats about all I can say. Its great for watching and ripping Blue Rays, but when it comes to ripping Cds or DVDs it is slow as all get out!!!

Does not play Blu Rays in Windows 8.1
I have tried using the provided PowerDVD 10 software but get an error when I try to play a movie. I have also tried using VLC, but with no success even. I am on the verge of sending this back. I've contacted TSST customer support to see if they will provide software for me to use my drive. Very frustrated as I also bought a pack of Blu Ray disks to burn old files to, but if I can not watch movies on the drive, I might as well return it meaning I will have wasted the disks. Hopefully I can get some software to play movies on soon or else I will be sending this back.

Affidabile, leggero e veloce. Un masterizzatore che opera su tutti i supporti, compresi i 50 GB, e costa davvero poco. Amazon ha poi consegnato in tempi eccezionali! Bravissimi!!

I bought it to use with new iMac that did not have drive. Only connection is USB on the back. In terms of use on a mac you can create DVD's, create Blu-ray disks and watch them BUT the unit does not come with any Mac software. Mac OS does recognise the unit and works fine. Indeed using with Final Cut Pro video editing software is brilliant. It's a bit unfair to blame the unit for not having Mac software supplied as it works really well. It's also a very good price for what is a nicely designed unit that works really well. I've not tried windows PC and don't have a TV with a USB socket. The included software for windows says Power DVD 10 BD 3D 6CH Power2GO7 PowerProducer5.5. PowerBackup 2.6 Windows OS XP vista 7/8 OS for AV says Linus, WinCE So if you are a Mac user and need a portable DVD / blu-ray device, it works well, all be it that you may need to buy some Mac dedicated software, if you don't have any currently. Would recommend.
