Using this filter it creates dramatic skies or simulate a moonlit scene during the day by slightly underexposing the image and also eliminating fog and haze. Infrared film is enhanced with extreme contrast turning skies even more dramatic and turning foliage white in landscape photos. The filter has a filter factor of 8, so you must increase your exposure by 3 stops to compensate. Tiffen filters are not dyed, but are manufactured by using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass and grinds down and polishes the glass. The glass is then mounted to the metal ring, which after that can be screwed onto the lens for the desired effect. desertcart.com May be used to simulate a moonlit scene at midday with slight underexposure. When used with infrared film, this filter yields extreme contrast in skies, turns foliage white, and cuts through fog and haze. ## Features - DRAMATIC BLACK & WHITE CONTRAST: Deepens blue skies, brightens clouds, and creates striking tonal separation for bold landscape, architectural, and outdoor black-and-white photography. - CLASSIC RED FILTER PERFORMANCE: The Red 25 filter significantly darkens blue tones while increasing contrast and enhancing texture detail for a more dramatic monochrome appearance. - DESIGNED FOR LANDSCAPES & SKIES: Ideal for outdoor scenes, mountain vistas, clouds, and architecture where strong contrast and enhanced definition create more powerful photographs. - TRUSTED TIFFEN QUALITY: Made in New York, Tiffen delivers dependable optical accessories trusted by generations of photographers seeking creative image control and consistent results. - REDUCE HAZE & IMPROVE CLARITY: Helps minimize atmospheric haze in distant subjects while increasing visual separation between elements within the scene for greater image impact. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00004ZCIH | | Best Sellers Rank | #1 in Camera Lens Color Correction & Compensation Filters #14 in Camera Lens Effects Filters | | Brand | Tiffen | | Built-In Media | Tiffen 77mm #25 Glass Filter - Red | | Coating Description | Academy and Emmy Award Winning ColorCore Glass Technology | | Color | Red | | Compatible Devices | Cameras with 77mm lens mount | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (568) | | Enclosure Material | Optical Glass | | Exposure Control Type | Manual (M) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00049383051063 | | Item Dimensions L x W | 3.03"L x 3.03"W | | Item Highlight | Contrast Control, Tonal Corrections and Sky Effects | | Item Weight | 2.4 ounces | | Manufacturer | Tiffen | | Manufacturer Part Number | 77R25 | | Media Type | ProductImage | | Model Number | 77R25 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Photo Filter Factor | 8 x | | Photo Filter Size | 7.7 centimeters | | Screen Size | 2.99 inches | | Set Name | Red 25 | | Special Effect | Color Correcting | | Thread Size | 7.7 centimeters | | UPC | 049383051063 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Limited 10-Year Manufacturer Warranty | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Tiffen - **Coating Description:** Academy and Emmy Award Winning ColorCore Glass Technology - **Material:** Optical Glass - **Photo Filter Effect Type:** Color Correcting - **Photo Filter Factor:** 8 x - **Photo Filter Size:** 7.7 centimeters - **Photo Filter Thread Size:** 7.7 centimeters - **Product Dimensions:** 3.03"L x 3.03"W - **UPC:** 049383051063 - **Water Resistance Level:** Not Water Resistant ## Images ![Tiffen 77mm Red 25 Filter Increase Contrast in Black and White Photography - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/6195G3UZ8mL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Set** options. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/7130476-tiffen-77mm-red-25-filter-increase-contrast-in-black-white](https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/7130476-tiffen-77mm-red-25-filter-increase-contrast-in-black-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Cyprus* *Store origin: CY* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
