First good backpack
Really good quality materials as i expected from North Face, seemed waterproof on light rain(bought the rain cover for that). Very cool design, looks tech-y (TNF black) although it can indeed not stand up on its own but that doesnt concern me. Main compartment is spacious with a cool sleeve for the laptop. I expected the front compartment to be bigger but its mainly used for storing your phone, pen, cards and generally smaller stuff. The padding on the straps is really good, does not hurt my neck and fits well without hurting your back. Feels really sturdy .I use it mostly for carrying my stuff to uni as a commuter but i might as well use it for long excursions or even on snowy mountains when i hit the slopes snowboarding.

Amazing bag, ticks all the boxes!!!
This is the most expensive backpack I have had so far but is 100% worth the investment. I use it every day for work and gym and also at uni. It has more than enough space, is super sturdy, very comfortable and looks good. I've had it for close to a year now and looks virtually brand new due to its hard wearing nature. When I first tried it on the straps seemed to dig into my neck bit this goes away after a couple uses ( I assume the straps soften up a bit).Buy and you won't regret it. Trust me.

Great.
Bought this ruck sack for commuting. The quality seems to be really good and offers plenty of space. Used it during a few heavy rain shower and there was no leaks. It's really comfortable to use and also has a chest strap, which is useful. The only niggle i've got but it's not a major one. When you sit it down, it tips over. This is due to the sloped bottom.

Great first impression
Not fully tested out yet but first impressions are good.Looks well made and sturdy. 15.5" laptop fits well, loads of space for other stuff. I brought this as I wanted something big enough to pack a laptop and space for an overnighter. Looks like it will do the job well!

Great
Overall very good. Great value for money and has a lot of capacity for pretty much anything. I use it for work and carry my laptop, food, cables, clothes and tools occasionally. It is reasonably light given its size and durability. I have found the the straps can be a little hard wearing on my shoulders after carrying it for over half an hour, full of stuff. Overall though, very good.

Great bag, great price
The bag is big, sturdy and perfect for getting to and from work. I carry heavy folders and this bag makes them seem much lighter. Really pleased that the straps are hard wearing as the ones on my last bag ripped on both sides.

Surprisingly spacious
I needed a new ruck that could carry: lunch, a laptop, headphone case, writing equipment, an umbrella, travel mug and still have space over for things like my hoody and could also double as an overnight/ weekend travel bag. This fit the bill perfectly for my needs, and that's important for buying a ruck. Has to fit what you need it for. This is my daily work bag replacing an old messenger bag. This can also fit in some parts of board games I play after work, additional clothes if going out after work and a little bit of shopping if I buy bits to make food with. Also works for weekend stays and would probably work for weekend breaks abroad. I've managed to fit toiletry bag, jeans, pair of trainers, comfy clothes for lounging around, spare boxers and socks, spare t-shirts and a towel with some room to spare. Granted this needed some clever packing like rolling up clothes but most people trying to maximise space would be doing this.Easy to adjust straps that don't dig in even if there is a fair bit of weight in the bag and has a slot at the back of the bag for a laptop. Still looks brand new even with repeated use and being thrown into my car.

Day in the office or day in the hills - this pack does the job AND looks good doing so!
If you're looking for a backpack that looks stylish Monday to Friday 9-5 but can also handle itself on a day hike into the forest then this pack is great. This would be my third day pack - the other two being a 22L Macpac and a 30L Berghaus. The Macpac is just a bit too small and the Berghaus too deep. The North Face Vault has an extremely well-padded laptop sleeve. It's nice and snug for a MacBook Air, and can even stretch to handle two Airs should the greed - I mean, need - occur. The gear loops running down the front of the bag are discreet and I prefer them (for practicality and aesthetic purposes) than the elastic cords you usually get.Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this bag are the shoulder straps. They're quite wide; initially too wide, I thought. However the more in the pack and the greater the weight the more they come into their own and stand out from the competition. They make comfortable and bearable work of what would usually be an overstuffed pack filled with climbing shoes, chalk bucket, drink bottle, change of clothes, laptop, chargers, 2L bottle of milk and dinner for the evening. They even have these nice ventilation points on the straps near the shoulders where you would normally leave sweat marks (for us guys that wear shirts).
