I wish I would have discovered these years ago. They make starting a fire so much easier. One of these works the first time and they are easy to light.Start by putting down some dry sticks and kindling over the top of one fire starter. Light the fire starter and the kindling will start soon after. Once your kindling is burning, then put your logs over the top and just wait. You will have a roaring fire in 5-15 minutes depending on the dryness of your wood.I highly recommend these as an easy way to start a fire and a much safer alternative to lighter fluid. Actually, I find these work better than lighter fluid, which tends to burn quickly. These burn slower than lighter fluid, which helps keep a fire going - preventing it from going out. These are great for starting charcoal chimneys and smoker tubes. I place one under my charcoal chimney on the grill grate and walk away for 10 minutes. I come back and the coals are red hot at the bottom and ready to pour onto the rest of the coals in the barbecue or smoker. When using my smoker tube, I light one of these and drop it in the tube on top the chips or pellets. I walk away 10 minutes, come back and the chips or pellets are going nicely. Blow out the flame and place the smoker tube.These are very convenient, light easily and burn nicely. They may not stay lit in the wind until they are going good, so if a little breezy, they need to be sheltered until they are flaming good. I really enjoy using these when barbecuing or smoking at home. I'll be buying more.

They work great! But it took me about five times to get it lit as it kept going out. The material is packed much tighter than other fire starters I have used. We use these indoors for our wood stove so it isn't as much of an issue for me. Would hate to be using these outdoors and get stuck with some wind...... Y'all would be screwed!
