Have always enjoyed this movie and continue to watch it every so often

We all know Jurassic Park is a timeless classic. It was a groundbreaking film and entertainment that still holds up today; the CG back then (including Terminator 2) still looks way more impressive than rushed out uninspired video game looking CG work done today! The Raptors look so realistic! Back then, I thought they were actually actors in a physical realistic costume suit having the most impressive creature movements ever in history... haha. With the amazing lighting work and everything, it doesn't look CG at all. I love how it builds up suspense by not showing the T-Rex immediately, and then there are just multiple actions that occur right after another... pacing is just great... even today, Jurassic Park is just loaded with intense, well thought-out clever moments and NOT just sloppy actions that drag. I know there are people who are not fans of 3D (Why Christopher Nolan? Inception deserves 3D. It gives an amazing experience!!) and believe it's a gimmick... back in the day, perhaps... and I do believe not all movies benefit from 3D. However, with today's technology and watching the 3D in high definition, large projection screen, it is really mind blowing incredible if the 3D elements enhance the film. Instead of being a spectator, when the movie and 3D is done right, it really feels like you're involved and on the set! I mean, 3D technology is not perfect and there can be some cardboard cut-out feeling still, but there can also be scenes where you totally forget you're even watching a screen. I felt like I was on the ride entering the park with them! I think it's more intense than the Jurassic Park water ride at Universal too! It's like having a theme park/Universal in my own home! I love seeing that Jurassic Park entrance in 3D... goosebumps! Seeing the T-Rex in 3D was like literally being there present and it was a whole new, exhilarating experience for me. When the girl falls off from the air duct and the Raptor leaps up towards her.... that totally made me flinch in 3D -- even though I knew that was going to happen from watching the film before. When one can watch an entertaining quality film with story, and then adding well-done 3D conversion, that is a win-win total complete package. One would think they shot this movie in 3D.... it's just really well done. Of course the kitchen Raptor scene has great depth in 3D. Back in 1993, I had a choice of watching Jurassic Park or Super Mario Bros in theaters... Haha.. glad I chose the former. I'm very grateful to be able to watch and experience this film in 3D. If you haven't seen this in 3D, you're missing out. Well worth the investment! I am so addicted to 3D films now, I don't know if I can enjoy watching well-done 3D films in 2D now.

I’m just going to say it: this movie is better than actual nature. I’ve seen real animals at the zoo and frankly, they’re lazy and disappointing compared to what’s happening here. The CGI is over 30 years old and somehow still looks more convincing than my own reflection in the morning. Between the iconic theme song that makes me want to explore a jungle and the T-Rex who is clearly the greatest physical actor of our generation, this movie is a religious experience. It’s got everything you need: questionable parenting, a lawyer getting exactly what he deserves, and Jeff Goldblum’s shirt buttons doing their absolute best to stay attached. If you don't think this is the greatest achievement in cinematic history, you’re probably a Dilophosaurus and I can’t trust you. Life found a way, and that way was making this absolute masterpiece.

I must admit I had reservations about remakes of movies in 3D. I grew up with the red/green glasses watching Vincent Price in theaters in House of Wax. Yes I really do go back to 50 cent movies with double features and cartoons and news plus collections for fighting polio. Was a bit past WWII war bonds at least! 3D back then was fun but hardly made you feel part of the movie. When Titanic came out in 3D it was first movie in 3D I purchased and I thought it was fantastic. Then Top Gun came out. Not quite so good 3D but still very good. Now Jurassic Park. I have not watched all the extras but I recommend anyone watch the 3D extra with Steven Spielberg on Disc 1 discussing how Titanic remake made him want to do Jurassic Park in 3D. Unlike some behind the scenes explanations of how a movie is made watching this before you watch the film will not spoil it for you. I remember after the Universal Studio tour my wife saying she wished she did not known all the tricks and effects as she could not get them out of her mind when watching a film. That will not be the case here. In fact it will make you appreciate even more the 3D effects. This extra goes through how a 2D movie is converted into 3D and how Spieberg worked with the studio scene by scene to give his input into what he wanted. The result is probably the best 3D I have seen. While it is not genuine 3D made with 3D cameras in some ways the result may surprise you and may be even better. The studio and the director can pick out those elements they want to emphasize and enhance in 3D. Having a master film maker like Spielberg directing the work results in a quality product. It makes me look forward to more and more remakes in 3D by the studio that did Titanic and Jurassic Park. With so little TV 3D I have bought numerous DVD's in 3D. Some are good, some are great and this falls in the latter category. Give it my highest recommendation for a 3D film. Have on order the new Star Trek movie when it is released in 3D this fall and it will be interesting to see how a made from scratch in 3D movie compares to a high quality remake in 3D. I have a sneaky feeling that the methods used in the remake may be even better than had it been made in 3D originally. We will see. If you get this one hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Well, you know the rest. Though I still enjoyed this movie very much after all of these years, it was a LOT more talky than I remembered. See the other reviews for more detail and/or other opinions of the movie's plot. VIDEO: 1.85:1 • Color • 1080p • VC-1 (30.4 Mbps) Considering the age of this film (over twenty-plus years at the time of this writing) the picture quality is relatively amazing. First off, there are no obvious artifacts such as specks, white dots, hair-lines or color fluctuations to speak of — which is always a consideration with images sourced from film. Further, the image is fairly sharp (without any obvious edge-enhancement) and has very good contrast (particularly in the dark and shadowy areas, such as the many night scenes and in the black shirt and black jeans worn by the Jeff Goldblum character). However, though the image is fairly sharp, it lacks fine detail. And, in some (but not all) close-ups of the faces of characters, there is often more than a hint of the wax-like appearance that is characteristic of overly aggressive dynamic noise reduction (DNR). Also, individual hairs and clothing textures don't have that finely delineated quality found in the best transfers to disc. However, even after all of the previously stated nit-picking, this is still an image that is of far more than acceptable quality — an image which is, quite possibly, the best that the movie has ever looked. AUDIO: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 (48kHz, 24-bit) The sound quality of the re-mix of the soundtrack into DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 for this disc is VERY, VERY good. In fact, it is far better than the soundtracks of many recent releases (such as Universal's own Jurassic World ). Dialog is clear and well placed, even in very noisy scenes. The rear and side channels are very active and highly directional throughout the length of the movie — even in quiet scenes they are very well utilized in conveying the acoustic environment of the characters on screen. And, the sub-woofer is often used to very good effect. The only quibbles I have with this soundtrack (and, they ARE minor) are that I think that the bass in the sub-woofer channel could have been deeper (particularly when the T-Rex is walking and running), and there could have been DEEPER bass used in ALL of the other channels to augment the bass of the sub-woofer channel when it was active. Though I don't consider the audio of this disc to be of reference quality, it is, nevertheless a VERY GOOD example of effective sound design for film. El 3D está muy bien y aunque a muchos les parezca algo nimio o viejuno, a mi me ha encantado y lo he disfrutado a cada plano. Sobre la calidad de la imagen, podía ser mejor, anda algo justita en algunos momentos para ser un 1080p. Sobre el 3D, lo antes mencionado... ¡espectacular!... Una película 2D reconvertida al 3D haciendo que sea aún mejor, ya que la profundidad en los planos es impresionante, sobre todo en los planos generales de la llegada en helicóptero a la isla, los planos con dinosaurios, etc. Una pena que no tenga planos con efecto pop-ups, de todas maneras lo he disfrutado con la misma intensidad que la primera vez que disfruté de la versión en 2D en el cine. Si eres un apasionado del 3D debes tener esta copia en tu videoteca. Blu-Ray edición de Alemania con 2 discos Español incluido

Handlung: Der Multimilliardär John Hammond erschafft auf einer einsamen Insel in der Nähe von Costa Rica einen Erlebnispark, welcher lebendige Dinosaurier bereithält. Den Forschern gelang es, aus einem im Bernstein eingeschlossene Moskito's dessen Blut anzuzapfen und DNS zu erhalten, daraus konnten sie lebende Dinosaurier zu erschaffen. Bevor der Park eröffnet werden kann und die Investoren ihre Bedenken bei Seite legen, lädt John Hammond einen führenden Paläontologen Dr. Alan Grant und dessen Freundin Dr. Ellie Sattler; eine Paläobotanikerin, sowie der Chaostheoretiker Dr. Ian Malcolm und seine beiden wissbegierigen Enkel ein. Doch der Besuch seiner ersten Gäste verläuft alles andere als nach Plan, denn die urzeitlichen Monster brechen aus, als ein Computer-Programmierer die Sicherheitssysteme deaktiviert, um Dinosaurier-Embryos zu stehlen. Die Dinosaurier brechen aus und starten eine mörderische Jagd auf ihre Schöpfer... Technisches: Das Bild ist gestochen scharf und lässt nicht ahnen das er eigentlich 1993 gedreht wurde, die Restauration war hier sehr erfolgreich und so sieht der Film aus, als sei er in letzter Zeit gedreht wurden. Der Ton klingt fantastisch, da kann man wirklich nicht meckern. Die Synchronstimmen passen alle zu den Darstellern und die Dialoge sind gut gemacht. Schauspielerisch machen die Darsteller ihre Sache gut. Das 3D sieht aus, als sei es ursprünglich in REAL 3D gedreht wurden, die Szenen wirken sehr plastisch und man kann in die Handlung noch besser eintauchen, die Dinosaurier wirken regelrecht lebendig. Es mag vielleicht mal eine Ungereimtheit in der Logik geben im Film, aber ansonsten ist die Handlung schlüssig. Fazit: Wer den Film bereits "nur" auf DVD hat, sollte sich ihn allein wegen dem HD eventuell nochmal zulegen, aber in 3D wirkt alles noch viel plastischer und es ist ein besseres Filmerlebnis.

Ja, ich muss gestehen, dass mich dieser Film IMMER wieder packt. Es gibt einfach solche Meisterwerke, die es können.... und Jurassic Park gehört einfach dazu. Egal wie gut die Effekte in Zukunft werden, egal wie raffiniert die Technik wird, dieser Film setzt GENAU da an wo es richtig knallt und zwar im Storytelling, welches packt. Oft kopiert und nie erreicht. Ich habe den Film bereits unzählige Male geschaut und werde es wieder tun. Eine absolute Empfehlung für die ganze Familie - insofern die Kinder alt genug sind.
