Intex 28611E Hydro Flow Swim Trainer Resistance Swimming System, Grey

Update. I hot my replacement today.Took 15 minutes to swap out. Intex delivered as promised. Back to swimming again. Here is my return resultsI reported broken and missing parts to Intex and for some reason unknown to me, it was reported I wanted a refund. That prompted Intex to have me ship product back with a cost to me. This was bad info and I had to send email Intex explaining, I don't want a refund, I wanted to replace the part broken. Intex sent me email that broken part is being shipped. No harm no fowl. New part will be changed at no additional cost to me. End result is. They honored warranty, I get my product. Not that hard. Staying with five stars after good customer service. The rest of this read is when I had an update on performance and the initial review to follow. This is an update, after using it for 15 days it is still doing except, I noticed a crack in the housing near the handle. I have requested return which requires a response from Intex. The intent is to get it replaced.Hope they are picking up the return shipping. Original post follows. I have a daughter who is a competitive swimmer and since the Pandemic olall USA Swimming Sanctioned practices and events have been canceled. I have a 16x32 above ground Intel pool for recreation but it is not big enough to get a workout in. I looked into Endless Pools which start at $10k and said nope, that's not an option. Then I started looking for an insert or drop in that would serve the same purpose and found this. Hear me out on this. My daughter consistently swims right at a one minute 100 freestyle. This unit will not make a current for that skillset in swimming. Now it will work great for longer distances at a slower pace. This will give her opportunity to work hand position for catch and pull. She has tried working her dolphin kick into it and that was a good drill to use it for. I installed some over head flags for her to work the backstroke without swimming into it. It does everything advertised to do. She can work all her strokes now and get a good work out. I am thinking this is good for 1:15 per 100 pace which is a 5 minute 400 free. Call it a 10 minute 800. These are just estimates. Definitely a goo for the 1650 and longer distance swimmers. If you looking for sprint training. Don't buy this. If you are looking to go long and strong. Get it. Lastly, if you are not swimming it doubles well as a lazy river type device. Fun to just jump in front of it on your noodle and float away. I am also considering g an in pool tread mill you use to walk against the current. Great work out there. Paddling kayak in front of it is a good work out. For the price and needing a place to train, you can do it. You might need to be creative. Great to work a kick board or arms only

I exercise every day and it is a lot more effective with the hydro flow swim system

This is not a bad product, but definitely its not as good as the Fastlane from Endless Pool. When you compare the prices this one costs 20% or 30% of the Fastlane, so it much cheaper. Before buying it I tested the Fastlane and loved it, but it was very expensive, so I found this option here on amazon and bought it.My considerations are:- It does not generate enough water flow for an experienced swimmer.- Most of the times when I turn it on, it shows an error on the screen so I have to reset it.- The power transformer is big and has a short cord. I wish I could I could hide it in the engine room, but It was not possible because of the cord's length, so I wrote an email to the manufacturer but unfortunately the answer was that they do not sell a larger cable.If you are looking for an equipment to have fun and swim for a while, this is a good option. Nevertheless, if you want to train for a competition (in my case for triathlon) maybe this is not the most suitable option.Best.Rafael

I had this in my cart for over a year and even after purchasing the pool it remained in the cart mainly because of the not so desirable reviews of other amazon buyers. A recent review by another buyer got me thinking about it again and I decided to take a chance and glad that I did. Because of the other reviews I figured if it was not up to par I could combine this machine with the tether system I was already using but I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. I am a middle of the pack triathlon swimmer and I get a good workout with the trainer set at 6 out of 8. Yes you can outswim the trainer if you get out of the middle of the current which is a normal reaction if you encountered a current in open water. The ma home does not put a wide current pattern so you need to make sure you stay in the middle of the pool. This a great product and will help your swimming tremendously.

The media could not be loaded. I will say the product is a lot bigger that the picture depicts so keep that in mind. I used it for the first time yesterday via an in-ground swimming pool. I have to say I was really impressed with how smooth and quite the Intex runs it is a really nice product so far! I don't have any complaints about it as of now, I would say that it should come assembled however I am really enjoying the product! Also I read in other reviews that most people feel that level 3 is a good level. I was able to swim against the current at level 8 and it was a really nice workout! Video is uploaded here.

The availability of this swim trainer was the primary reason for buying the Intex 8x16 pool. With only 30" depth we took a gamble on the functionality of the product, but I couldn't be more pleased: you can fully swim against the current on level 8, perfect for swimming several km or miles in breast stroke. Yes, you will hit the bottom easily with your feet until you get used to it, but it fits adults with 6'2" nicely, as long as you don't expect regularly sized pool.Kids have a blast with the current and a boogie board, you can paddle against the current, it's the perfect addition for your Intex pool

I would leave five stars but the transformer times out after 1.5 hrs with no activity so you always have to turn it off then back on to use it.The current generated is good enough for a work out. I can out swim it easily on a power stroke ,however on breast stoke or back stoke the middle range currents 5-7 seem to give a good resistance for a work out. I have it in a 9x18 intex pool.

Fabulous product, perfect addition to the Intex pool. Must keep it horizontal, we made a base with 1” pvc tubing connected with 3 way 1” PVC fitting.Super safe. Imperative to get a local pool permit to make sure that everything is per code, specially the electrical.My wife who is an excellent swimmer is on level 3. Very important for the motor to stay horizontal.
