MBT Tembea Mink

This was my second pair of exactly the same MBTs that I purchased in May 2010.The delivery was great. My wife & I aim to walk 10,000 steps per day & often go over when time is not too tight. I am pretty sure we average about 7500 steps per day. MBTs make that walking so much more enjoyable & increase calorie burn. I used to have back & hip pain. I have no more pain now that I sit on a pilates ball all day & walk as much as we do. MBT are must have for walking the distances we do. In flat shoes, walking can get tiring & uncomfortable. The only discomfort I ever have with MBTs is normal knee & occasional ankle. With MBTs, they keep you rolling forward much better than flat shoes. At the end of a 2 hour walk we are prepared to keep going.There is an issue tho: the soles wear out too fast for shoes that are this highly priced. My first pair was smoothly bald with 3 months. So I started walking in the grass, or leaves or anything other than stone or concrete or asphalt/tarmac. I was in California last year for an extended period & the cement sidewalks took a toll on the soles. Also, the second pair I bought from Amazon may have been in the warehouse a bit longer than my first pair that I bought in health food shop. The special soft rubber between sole & hard curved insole has started to drastically degrade, chunks coming off. Maybe that is because I got more mileage out of the second pair because I know to walk on grass whenever possible. My first pair, the soles are almost worn all the way through in 6 months; the second pair have lasted a year.That means one thing: I must purchase some new MBTs because all this walking has me feeling & looking healthier than when I used to sit in a hard chair & not walk very much each day. I love MBTs.So the shoe design gets 5 stars, I cannot be without a pair. Yet the soles let MBT down. I hope they have it fixed now!

I must admit that I was more than a little sceptical about the claims made about these shoes...but after having worn them every day for about the last month; they are fantastic! I have had a sore knee for around 5-6 years now...and bang...gone!They are also incredibly robust. After wearing them all day for a month, they still look almost brand new. Very happy.

I have used now 6 pairs of MBT shoes, and this is the best one. It fits wonderful and after couple of months of use they look fantastic.
