Lasko 32 Oscillating Tower Fan with Remote Control

I do love that the fan produces a lot of air flow with just enough white noise to sleep to but not loud enough to interfere with the audio when awake and watching TV, while taking up very little space. However, with the all of the indicator lights being located on the almost flat top of the unit instead of facing the front and viewable from across the room. It is very difficult to tell which speed it is on at night, when it is pitch black in here and I am watching the TV. The fan is fairly quiet at the lower speeds, and the remote control is VERY difficult to use, It must be pointed at exactly the right spot to hit the sensor in order to operate the fan, the buttons are very stiff, and difficult to push while holding the very unergonomically designed short, wide flat remote. Since the lowest speed is very quiet, and difficult to hear over the TV, I usually have to turn the TV off, or pause my movie, in order to hear the fan and be able to tell if it has actually responded to the remote. Overall, it works very well as a space saving fan with enough air flow to accomplish it's purpose to provide a cooling breeze, but it's operational controls are VERY poorly designed and are VERY annoying to use. I use it every day, and therefore it annoys me every day, several times each day, so I will likely replace it with a more responsive unit to use in my primary location, and relegate this one to emergency backup status in storage or in a lesser used room.

The remote control buttons are hard to press. The oscillating causes a plastic squeaking noise, irritating. Tried leveling the unit and it still squeaks. Otherwise it blows air.

That is takes up little space, that it looks classy, that it works like a charm, that it is super quiet and that it is well made...need I say more...oh and it is affordable.

Bought this fan at Bed Bath and Beyond for $39.99 yesterday. So far its perfect for what I need. It's very quiet even on the highest setting. I sleep with it relatively close to me and it kept me cool. My room is very warm and the air conditioner simply doesn't help. I had been using a box fan on the lowest setting and it was just too loud when I was trying to sleep. This fan does not have a lot of power, but I actually prefer that myself. It would have been nice if the remote had come with batteries, but not really a big deal.

Use this for bedroom. At night put on lowest speed....very very quiet...seems even more quite when oscillating. The other 2 speeds produce more air....with TV on it is not distracting....remote works great..does not come with batteries...
