Artesanía Latina 22810. Wooden ship model HMS Bounty 1:48

I ordered this some time ago, but going over everything in the box, it was missing entire boards of parts and sections of the parts list. When I sent it back and got it replaced, the next one was just as bad. Instead of giving me what I needed to make it, I got doubles of the main boards which was quite literally useless to me if I wanted to build it.If you're fine with having to make, I don't even know how many parts for this ship yourself, then it's fine, but if you want something you can work on peacefully, save your money and don't bother with this. I regret buying this completely since I don't have the skills to produce the missing parts or the materials.

The kit arrived a day before schedule and in a perfect shape!Indeed a very nice kit with perfect laser cut pieces and material. All materials wrapped and packed beautifully. Fittings stored in quality plastic boxes and looks professional.The instructions and numbering sheets however had some pieces wrongly numbered for the hull but if you loose fit first before gluing it is of very minor issue.The pictured instructions looks to be before the laser cut era with hand cut pieces and some instructions does not match the kit but again this is of minor issue.So far I have only partly finished the hull and when it comes to the masts and rigging you only have drawings to look at but these are very comprehensive so when that time comes I don't see any hurtle apart from time consuming ;-)In general I can recommend to view the numerous youtube channels with tip and hints on how to build a wooded ship.

I read reviews of other models in the Artesania Latina range and they complained of lead mouldings rather than brass and cheap photocopied instructions as against full colour. Opening this kit there are many quality parts, a full colour booklet and other instructions. Most of the metallic parts are brass but others are lead. So for example I would need to paint a white lead ships wheel with brass paint. Not a deal breaker but disappointing. Hopefully this kit illustrates a move away from cheapening of the parts to higher quality. I fear it may be going in the wrong direction.I will hold off on buying other 'AL' products as a premium price should reflect a premium product. Anyone can go cheap but that just annoys potential customers and eventually destroys the brand.

I bought this model in like new condition. At £150 cheaper I was expecting a deal of damage, happy to find the only damage was a squashed box with no damage inside.The materials used were of great quality and so far the lasered parts are really accurate.Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Have built many ships over the years this is the first Artesania Latina kit and it a great Kit.

Envoi très rapide; emballage soigné ; tarif tout à fait correct, compte tenu de l'excellence de préfabrication, très poussée et dune grande précision dans les découpes au laser. La notice de montage est, également, très bien conçue.
