Another great Album from the Master himself!
One of the best Albums I heard in awhile. PVD brings back a lot of that sound that made me an immediate fan since day one back in the 90's, way before America even had a thought of what Electronica is or EDM as they refer to it now. Paul is was and always will be my favorite Dj of all time,if you haven't seen him live then you haven't lived his music yet and got to see what this man is capable of. This DJ is one that has paved the way for a lot of Djs in the scene now and is still much better than most of the poppy wanna be Dj crap that fills the circuits this day in age. Paul will never be over rated and given the respect he deserves with his longevity and consistancy to stay true to his original sound. and style unlike some dissapointing Djs out there who shall remain nameless but starts with a T and ends with IESTO!

As close as to the old PVD
Trance music and the EDM scene has evolved, so it's hard to expect artists to be able to stay the same after so long. I must admit, I was disappointed by Paul van Dyk's last release (In Between), but I can say this album brings back a lot of elements that make PVD a unique force in the EDM scene.Standout tracks are The Ocean and Verano; though the PVD Full Fire remix of Verano is much better in my opinion (that remix is not on this album).I absolutely love Rock This, its a great upbeat track. Lost in Berlin is a memorable track and the closing track Heart Stops Beating is really nicely done. One more thing, PVD's collaboration with Giusseppe Ottaviani for A Wonderful Day is probably the track that I think closest brings back memories of Paul Van Dyk and the EDM scene from early 2000s.I would recommend this CD, it is a brand new PVD album with the classic PVD still shining throughout the album.

Brilliant Work
It took 2 full listens, then i was absolutely hooked. It has more of a progressive sound and is quite upbeat- perfect to begin the northern hemisphere summer. Although the sound is different then sasha's music, what PVD with evolution reminds me of what sasha did with involver. My head has been wrapped in the beautiful dark techno sound of subfractal, erphun and spektre lately- this was quite a transition and a fantastic one at that. I can't wait to put this on again and listen all the way through! Beautiful music PVD!!

American style EDM - not the old PVD :(
Overall It sounds like PVD was aiming to please modern dance lovers. It is not as good as his previous work. If you grew up on the old PVD - For an Angel, Tell me why, the whole Politics of dancing, Another way, Avenue, his many great remixes, you'll probably be appalled by this CD. At times it feels like nothing more than happy feel good modern american-style EDM trash. Not nearly as deep as his older music an not a hint of goa like was in his very early stuff.I say that honestly too, it's got a couple of nice tunes, but that's hardly a redeeming feature when his old works were so good because they were like a woven tapestry with fine detail. Believe me, if you liked all the things about PVD that made him so interesting, his intricate melodies, interesting drum sounds and fx, you'll hate this, probably.EDIT - Okay so some time has gone on. While I don't need to change my opinion on the quality of this work vs the quality of his older work I should say that as a stand alone this is on the better side of the new EDM sound. Still, not what I hoped for from PVD. We could really do with his unique and brilliant style today to shake things up a little. Far too much homogeneity in dance music now.

Like the trance music in this album
I have always been a Paul Van Dyk fan. I have been listening to this audio selection for more than a week. I love the varying rhythm and beats especially the first song Symmetries. The reason for getting the Audio CD is for the quality of audio encoding, as compared to MP3 compression. And with technology advancement comes better compression methods, it is good to have this as audio CD and then selecting the desired compression method wanted.

Best Paul Van Dyk album since 7 Ways
This is the best Paul Van Dyk album since 7 Ways. In fact, for me, it is my favorite album by Paul.Paul van Dyk clearly has matured quite a bit since the early days. His style is still there but much more sophisticated. This album is melodic, sophisticated, and very classy. The vocals are fantastic. Paul is simply the best in the business.

Good album, thought I would like it more than I did.
I have listened to this album a few times and was waiting for it to pop out at me like some of the other Paul Van Dyk's albums. I really like a few of the songs on this one, but as to the rest, they are OK. I know peoples taste in music is different, so if you are a fan of Paul Van Dyk then please check this album out.

Really awesome!
I found this Album really great. Better: awesome!I was about to discover PvD, so I bought the album by the way (It was quite new at the moment) and was really excited about how the songs sound. I live in germany so I had to wait one or two weeks. But then I was reallly happy about I buyed this album!Every song is just too good and I knew only two songs (one track) from the album, Eternity and, of course, Verano, before. Then I knew these all other (13) songs and was really happy :DAlso I found out a lot about other Artists, my favorite one on this album except Paul was Arty.I enjoyed the booklet, too :)

His 2nd Best Album
As a Trance addict for over 17 years with over 100 Trance albums in my collection, Paul Van Dyk is right at the bottom of my list with regards most of his albums. But Evolution comes close to the top, it's not as good as In Between which I'd say is his best album by far, but Evolution I'd say is his 2nd best album. It features my favourite PVD track and one of the most amazing Trance tunes ever I Don't Deserve You a stunning emotional uplifter with beautiful vocals. With PVD don't expect uplifting Trance but just the Paul Van Dyk Trance we know from him. Thankfully this isn't the dark dull Trance that Politics Of Dancing 3 delivered or any of his earlier albums, nothing like dull Reflections here. The album is a step in another direction of beautiful sounding PVD style Trance.Top track by far is the stunning I Don't Deserve You with the full extended original and my 2nd best track is Everywhere with amazing vocals from Fieldwork.Every Trance addict should own this but don't be put off or expect his earlier sounds or POD 3 style.

PvD - epic production
I cannot rate this cd highly enough. The only track I do not like is Verano. However, I still do not consider it as good as his cd In Between.I do give warning though... this cd is not pure trance. I have heard many criticisms from friends of mine about this cd, but this is because it is not the old-school-trance that PvD brought us up on. It is instead a diverse mix of uplifting trance, chill-out music, pop-trance, techno and pop-tech-electro. To me, this proves that PvD is an amazing producer who doesn't want to get bored of his own sound.EVOLUTION is definitely worth the buy!!!

Legend never fails
This man knows trance can bend shape and reinvent his albums . He is the only dj I have trusted all through the trance invasion . If you want a trance album that plays like a PVd set buy this it rocks .

Evolution of PVD music
There is certaintly a sense of evolution over previous Paul Van Dyk tracks from other albums, but a great range of tunes and mixes. Personal favuorites include 'The Ocean', The Sun After Heartbreak' and 'Heart Stops Beating', as well as 'We Come together'. This is album is certaintly well worth a listen!!

Ignore the press reviews, this is great!
This is one of four great trance/dance CDs that have come out this year (the others being WKND , Thousand Mile Stare and Club Life - Volume Two Miami ). The lukewarm press reviews, which are unjustified, and the fluctuating price (European import, not released in the UK as yet maybe?), may put you off. However, this is worth adding to your collection.Yes, it's more simplistic and has a few more vocalists (Adam Young is questionable, but the track works), and it's nothing like his earlier albums (except maybe the excellent Verano and Dae Yor), but it's very melodic, danceable, and it's unmistakably PvD. Highly recommended. WKNDThousand Mile StareClub Life - Volume Two Miami
