Is this like Pibil paste?

You can make your own Pibil marinade with the Achiote (Annatto) paste by adding other ingredients to it, look online for various recipes. It gives an authentic, slightly sweet and peppery, Mexican flavour and appearance to chicken if used on its own too.

I'm struggling to translate the mexican instructions of use to English what is the the recommended way to use this paste as a marinade for chicken?

Hi, very much similar to using oxo cubes or similar, the paste block will dissolve in hot water. You can either smear straight onto meats or dissolve in water - how much depends on how thick or lose you would like seasoning to be. Hope this helps, any queries just say Regards, Steve

Very good

I used this in tacos el pastor and to make some sazon, it worked well in both, adding a depth of flavour to the taste in both. Although it smells quite strong it is not too hot when added into a mix as directed, overall good value for money.

Love this!

This is literally the BEST ingredient if you want delicious pulled pork. Mix this block in a blender with orange juice, pepper, salt, oregano, mixed spice, and cumin. Then spread the marinade all over a 2-3kg joint of pork shoulder, leave overnight then cook in the oven on 160 for 3-4 hours. The result is delicious pull apart pork with a 'next level' flavour!!

The perfect product for cocinita pibil.

Save yourself time by buying the achiote paste instead of annatto seeds. They are as hard as a brick and a pain to prepare. This makes preparation of cocinita pibil a walk in the park. Great flavour and colour, this is the real deal. Very much recommended.
