Commercial Undercounter Ice Maker by Manitowoc

Let’s start by saying this item is not cheap. This is serious money to put out but you do get what you pay for and while there are many cheaper options, they are far inferior to a product like this. They have 24Hr timers you have to turn on daily, hook up to a faucet (that’s strange), zero parts availability for down the road, no support and are basically throw aways and if you evaluate feedback from those types of machines, they burn out after a year. So do you want to spend $500 a year, every year for who knows how long or purchase a reputable brand with a ton of support and parts if you need it. This is a very nice machine. This is an upgrade from an Edgestar that ran for 13 years 24/7. I have a large home bar and do a lot of entertaining plus the summers for filling coolers for the pool, etc. Machine is well built and worked perfectly. The instructions don’t mention or picture the switch on the front which is odd because at first I thought it didn’t work but after a finding a video on you tube, I was on a wash cycle. After putting the switch on the right selection, it took about 25min to get my first harvest. Understand, the unit, the bin were all at room temperature. After the unit chilled down inside, ice production was much faster. A great machine. No complaints and highly recommend.

When the machine was installed there was an issue with it leaking as it would cycle through to make ice. After messaging the third party with great response, we were able to get a tech to evaluate the issue. Our building maintenance staff were able to install correctly and we are now up and running with no leaks. I was VERY impressed with the correspondence with the third party vendor , Burkett and Son, Inc. If we need another ice maker we will definitely buy this product again.

I have had this machine for over a year and have had NOTHING but problems with it. I had it professionally installed with a 3M filtration system. On day 2, the inlet hose popped loose and flooded my room (ruined flooring, leaked into the crawl space). I reinstalled it and it came loose again. I then added a hose clamp to prevent it from popping off again (not easy to get to). A few months later, another connection came loose, sprayed water everywhere and overflowed. Now, it appears that the inlet valve will not shut off, so the water runs constantly and the tub fills up with water. I am diagnosing it to see if I can figure out what's happening now. I rely on ice for my business and I cannot rely on this machine. This unit causes constant worry for what's next? Will it flood again? It was expensive but I am absolutely 100% dissatisfied. My advice... stay away from this unit and maybe this brand.

Ice maker arrived DOA. Called shipper and gave me number for authorized repair. Repair person found a faulty relay that triggered the machine to dump ice. I almost sent machine back but the installation was done and paid for so let it go. Has been working since. Makes a load of ice every 8 hours which is about 30 pound (advertised 95 pounds every 24 hours). This machine is rather specialized for what I want. It had to fit under my bar and put out at least 60 pounds of ice per day. That said, the bin only holds 30 pounds so if you want 90 pounds of ice per day and the space requirement is not a factor then get a machine with a bigger bin. We have an ice bin next to the ice machine for cooling drink lines so we have to dump the ice in it anyway. Like I said, my need is rather specialized. The shipper responded to my email on a Sunday and the ice machine was fixed Monday. Good response. I also got a good refrigeration repair guy that I called back for another refrigeration unit which he fixed better then when it was working. Needs a drain underneath on the floor or at least within 4 feet so the drain hose can reach it. Do not try to run up hill higher then the bottom of the ice maker (see legs in picture). Uses 120 volt standard plug outlet. Ice dump is noisy but the running noise is ok. Three star award is mainly due to arriving DOA and the small ice bin. Works well and does what was advertised.

Had the older version(10 years old). But this new one is even better!

Pedi esta maquina de hielo y primer cosa, llego despues de lo prometido, sin caja, abollada y sin funcionar. pague $2,656.80 dolares por algo que no funciona. tengo 3 meses queriendo regresar el producto y no e podido. amazon me comunica con carga pesada, ellos me mantienen por largo tiempo en espera y me cuelgan. me dicen que tengo que llenar una aplicacion para que vengan por el producto y nada. tengo 3 meses haciendo el mismo proceso y ellos no me responden favorablemente. tengan mucho cuidado con este vendedor y tambien con AMAZON ellos no nos respaldan ni valoran como clientes. Yo perdi 2,656.80 dolares y nadie hasta ahora me a ayudado.

Packing box was fine. Upon unpacking...Dent that is circled in red does not allow the door to be opened more than an inch!!! Now I need to know the proper channels to take to remedy this problem.
