Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior

Great Book--Should be read by any leader
This book looks at human behavior and its relationship to individual and social consciousness. The book's value is that it transcends the traditional doctrinaire and pre-scientific justifications for human virtue while destroying popular justifications for the use of force in a post-Nietzschean value-relative world. This book relates many types of force used in terrorism, preemptive war, and personal and national self-interest to low levels of development of human consciousness. It argues that genuine power comes through virtuous living rather than subjugation by force. There is a classification scale of 0-1000 level of consciousness that many teachers and policymakers will resist, in part because many of them will fall low on this scale in today's society, and their counterparts 200 years ago would have probably ranked much higher. This type of analysis should be an essential part of any public or private school education, and even assigned to politicians running for office. A charter school I am advising is considering a goal graduating students that score 500 on this scale. It would indeed be an achievement to see a society operating at that level (most current political campaign slogans and many commercial advertisements are near the bottom of this scale).I recommend reading this book for anyone interested in producing good people and good societies in a post-doctrinaire (whether of a religious fundamentalist, rationalist, or ideological variety), and post-pluralistic/relativist society.

Intuit your level of truth
This book came with high praise from many people, so I must admit, my expectations were high. The book did not disappoint me. I will admit the powerful premise is still open ended as I have not yet developed the skills nor the subjects needed to test the kinesiology based test. The idea that there is a universal consciousness that we each are a part of and thereby have access to that knowledge makes sense to me. There were several quotable statements which I noted as sage-like. The idea that "the end does not justify the means" because each task must be accomplished with integrity is one I liked. Even though I was not able to find suitable test subjects or even "prove" that I have the necessary score to do the testing, I do come away with a feeling that if that knowledge is tangible than I must be able to hone my own intuitive nature to guide me through decisions in my life. I know, it sounds kind of obvious, but it is a powerful read and Dr. Hawkin's "Map of Consciousness" is a conceptionally basic idea but very astutely organized and diagramed. And finally, I have recently learned that Dr. Hawkins passed away last year, so don't RIP, but instead, Enjoy the next Plane of Existence, and thank you for your continued contribution to the search for a higher level of consciousness for mankind. This book is as important as The Bible and The United States Constitution
After the Bible and the Unites States Constitution this is the third most important book ever written because it describes and explains how a person's level of consciousness affects their entire life and what is limited and what is possible in life at all the levels of consciousness. By using valid scientific methods the author gives us a most powerful tool in understanding how our level of consciousness determines the quality and nature of every aspect of our lives. By understanding our own level of consciousness, each of us can take steps to improve every aspect of our life and can help us in our relationships with others by mutually referring to the scale of consciousness which is this book's huge contribution to mankind. The scale of consciousness is the enormous gift that is given by this book The scale of consciousness given in this book is every bit as valuable to understanding the quality of life as the thermometer's scale of temperature is to understanding the weather. With the scale we have a reference that we never had before and for the reason that the book provides the scale of consciousness is the reason for the universal importance of this book. The benefits of reading this book are as powerful and equal to the benefits of having been influenced by the Bible and the U.S.Constitution.

Well worth investigating!!!!
I have personally used the technique that Dr. Hawkins describes in the book and it has proven itself to me as a valid way to determine the truth about everything I've needed to know about.Read this book and put it to use - you will not be sorry!I realize also that there are people who have said that they have tested the theories and technique for themselves and that they were not pleased with their results or have found the requirements for the technique to work to be too complicated but you'll have to try it for yourself to see if it is worth the effort or not. Also, in light of the present health care disaster that has just been dumped on everyone I believe that this book could possibly even save your life!!!!Do yourself a favor and check it out - you'll be glad you did and you'll never be the same once you do what it says.

This book was mind blowing. It really reinforces the fact that we have access to things that are way beyond the physical world. Just the simple fact that your muscles KNOW the difference between that which is life supportive & that which is destructive was empowering to me. We know the answer to any question, any situation, or any person and your body will communicate the answer to you when the question is considered. At one point in the book I felt sadness for past feelings of anger when I realized how that low energy must have affected those around me AND at another point I felt overwhelming joy over the fact that the world is evolving collectively & we are effectively raising the overall level of energy the world calibrates at & THAT is inspiring!I must read this several times to truly grasp the implications of the concepts discussed - EYE OPENING for sure!
