I love these. Please bring them back!!! They are so elegant and beautiful -- a classic Japanese design that is both elegant and informal. I am buying a replacement set. My one small criticism is that we have found surface susceptible to little nicks and tears that expose the white under layer. I wish the finish were a little stronger. On the other hand we have used them daily for several years often more than once a day. I am glad the price has come down a bit so I can afford replacements. I would warn people, however, not to use them as a cutting board and to avoid soaking them, but wipe with a damp cloth.

Very good quality. Placed these mats beneath some very heavy dishes. Had food spill on them and sit there for several hours while an event was in progress. The mats showed no indentations from the heavy dishes. Was able to get the food off, with no spice or tomato stains remaining behind, with just a damp cloth. The mats came in an attractive box that has come in handy for putting the mats away in.
