This PFD kept my head above water when it mattered.
I owe Gill a review of this life vest at the very least. I bought this vest from a local marine supply store 5 years ago. A month ago, I was washed overboard on a gybe that went bad in 20kts while we were about 7 miles off shore with 3 foot swells. Luckily, I was wearing this PFD that day. I'm 6'2", 185lbs and was wearing bibs over shorts, tee shirt, and sneakers. The buoyancy of this PFD was enough to overcome my body weight and the weight of everything that I was wearing. After going overboard, I emerged right away and my head was always above water, except for a handful of times a larger wave would crest just over my head. Enough of my upper body remained visible so rest of the crew onboard could keep eyes on me. Fortunately, I was safely recovered about 10 minutes later.
