It is not real ss steel
description says 440, then 3cr13mov? I don't care because it's used in the garden. If you plan to cut things ,forget it. asian 3cr13mov is very soft and will not hold an edge. however for a cheap garden knife it is great, just ordered another before they get popular and price goes up.

Serviceable Budget Knife
Keep in mind I bought this knife for less than $8. At that price, I wasn't expecting much, and I got far more value than the price suggests. I was looking for an additional utility knife that I wouldn't feel bad mistreating. It came very sharp, shaved hair, out of the box. Well pachaged. The full tang blade is wuite heavy and thick, which adds to the solid feel. 440C is a reasonable economy stainless steel, still used on much higher priced blades. The handle design allows a fairly solid grip, which is good because the wood is smooth and could easily slip when wet. The grind is a slight hollow grind,so should be easy to sharpen. It comes with a basic cheapie but functional sheath, designed to hang b from your belt.Don't expect amazing details. The fit and finish are below what I would hope for, but likely better than you should expect for less than $8. The handle is not fit well to the tang, and sharp-ish edges can be felt when you run your hand over it or hold it tight. The cutting edge seems well ground, but the rest of the blade isn't evenly ground and lines don't meet exactly. For example, thevdrop point has a taper on either side of the back as it approaches the point: these are slightly inconsistent and they reach to the point at slightly different spots. The sheath is nothing spectacular, very basic and cheaply constructed.Having said that, the blade is quite serviceable and of course I won't feel bad if I abuse it through tough tasks. Though the fit and finish are not refined, the steel is good and solid enough to put up with some abuse. I expected less quality and I am pleeasantly surprised.

Not comfortable in the hand
The knife is not very comfortable in the hand. It was sort of sharp out of the box. It needs sharpening and some work in the handle to make a little smother to hold.

Very good grip
Very light and feels well made super sharp, the handle has really good grip and the finger guard is a nice touch. I feel like it's worth the money.
