HELCOR -- WELL NAMED! DURABLE AND STRONG
The day they arrived there was a sleet storm, cold, wet and grim! These HELCORs performed admirably through snow, ice and slush. My feet remained warm and dry. The elements had NO EFFECT on the boots at all. Wipe 'em off and they look like new. I've tried other boots, some by Timberland, but these are the most comfortable for the foot. Unfortunately, the cowling around the top, the very stiff tongue and neck along the back ankle will take time to break in and have caused discomfort. That limits their wear time. As reported elsewhere, the size is a bit large, but I decided that's a plus. I don't want my feet squeezed; a boot is not a like a glove, it's not a comfy, cross-trainer. The buyer must accept some stiffness for the durability and strength these boots provide facing the elements. Another criticism: The boot pictured above has a different heel from the one I received. My heel is solid, no goofy window. They should change the picture. Yes, I recommend these boots despite the criticisms.

Boots look great! Size is fine, fits great.....lets see how they hold upUPDATE: it's been 6 months of casually wearing these boots and the sole has come apart from the rest of the boot. I have worn timberland boots specifically the pro series for years and this has never happened. I am very disappointed and will not be buying these boots again, for $100 and I only got 6 months out of them I am definately not happy!

Just as good as advertised
In short: perfectly waterproof and warm (I use them throughout the norwegian winter); very resistant to scratches as advertised; easy to wash the dirt away of them; the 43EU (9US) has right length but toe cage was too narrow; outersole is slippery on ice; they do not breathe at all and your feet will sweat in there; the white seam may get colored by your blue jeans because of friction.More on the sizing: as said above, perfect length for my 43EU (9US), but narrow toe cage. I had to wear them for almost 2 weeks for the shoes to be more comfortable. I never had the need for wider shoes ever before (I do not have especially wide feet). I should maybe have gone one size down and choose the 2E since everybody seems to indicate that 2E is wider and feels like one size bigger? But since the shoes have double innersoles, there is possibility to change for a single (thinner) innersole and gain some room.

Loved the shoe but...
Loved the shoe but....I got this for someone as a gift. Usually Tims run a half size larger than other shoes so these were bought based on that. However, these Tims were actually true-to-size. I have three pair of Timberland boots size 11 and these are smaller. Also, if you buy these on Amazon, you can only return them and/or exchange sizes through Amazon and not in the Timberland Store or sending back to the factory. The Timberland policy allows 60 days for size exchange while Amazon only allows 30 days for these shoes so keep that in mind.

Amazing long lasting boot
First let me start off by saying I was apprehensive about getting these boots because of the heel design. But I absolutely love them. I'm a woman who has worn Timbs since Jr. High. They were my everyday boot growing up. I would put them through hell. But I hated how scuffed up they would get. I'd get so paranoid about people stepping on them or spilling something on them. My sister would always say..."Timbs are supposed to get marked up". After my previous Timbs would get so dirty, I'd get rid of them. I've gone without timbs for maybe 5-6 years now. And while I was recently searching for a pair I was in shock at the sticker price. I could never pay the normal $180-200++ for boots that I know would get messed up.Somehow I stumbled upon these Helcor Timbs that were on sale here on Amazon. I couldn't even remember my size. I'm a woman's 9.5-10 depending on the shoe. I rushed to my local sports store to try on a regular pair.( I ended up ordering a men's 8.) The fit is perfect even with thick winter socks on. They do feel a little heavy on my feet. I don't know if that's because it's a men's boot versus all of my previous ones being a womens. Or maybe the design is just a bit thicker/wider/heavier. Theyre definitely not as slender as the women's version I remember from my past. However even with the extra weight, they are extremely comfortable after hours and hours of wear. I looked up as many pictures and videos I could find on these boots before hitting that 'Order' button. Even watching one where they set them on fire as well as ketchup smeared on them. All tests were successful and the Timbs walked away looking untouched or harmed. I was sold, except for the funky heel. Once the shoes arrived, looking at the leather material the boot is made of you can see why its so "life" proof. I don't know how the leather was treated/processed, but it's amazing. I've already scuffed them up quite a few times. All I've had to do was take a wet paper towel and wipe them off...voila good as new.The heel adds a little flavor to the shoe, exposing the material it's made of. I've gotten loads of compliments from men and women on them. Some asking where I got them from. I've worn these boots so much...I'm contemplating getting a 2nd pairThe f
