NDZ Performance Enhanced Safety Switch for Mossberg 500 590 835 930 Shockwave 12/20 Gauge Anodized Aluminum - Blue

The only reason I gave this safety switch 4 stars instead of 5 is NOT the fault of NDZ Performance. It's a Mossberg 500 safety switch. That means you have to totally take the shotgun apart to install the switch correctly. That means having to fill the frame with a towel or something similar to hold the switch in place, while simultaneously holding your fingers inside the frame, and then hope you can get the install screw to "bite" the threads at least once. From there, it's very simple and then your Mossberg 500 becomes the very best it can be when it comes to insuring that safety works. I mean it...that NDZ Performance Safety Switch made a whole bunch of difference with or without gloves, in insuring your shotgun is safe to carry and safe to shoot. Great Product!

The safety on my gun was nearly impossible to work without tearing skin off of my thumb. This fixed that issue by providing a solid grip without injury. Installed in less than two minutes. Great product.

This could be more durable but the installation was a snap, great instructions, and can't beat the price.

This review needs to start with a warning.Mossberg shotguns are quality firearms, BUT,the screw they use to secure their plastic safety selector is so soft it wants to strip no matter how good the quality of your Gunsmith Driver bits are. I selected the best one to fill the slot and it immediately started stripping the screw slot anyway. These screws are mush! It seems as though that screw might be made of aluminum. Doubtful, but very poor quality and Mossberg needs to upgrade all these screws to hex or Torx and use better steel.The same goes for the 4 screws on top of the receiver that you must remove if you add a 1918 picatinny tail. Be warned.

Reasonably easy to install - the difficult part is getting the factory one out without destroying the mounting screw. Thankfully this one comes with its own screw.Much more pleasant to use.

Far better than the stock safety and much easier to see and faster to manipulate! Install took about 5 mins. I'm going to buy these for the rest of my 590s and Shockwave now. I'm impressed and very happy with this upgrade. If you own a Mossberg, just buy it.

Smooth action with no binding. Make sure to swap back plate from stock safety.

It’s metal. Better than the plastic original.It operates smoothly. Better than my factory original.The pad is taller than the original. Better.Be careful before disassembling the original. YouTube it for some great tips that reduce the chance of frustration and delay.I’m so glad I made the swap.

I know saying "better than stock" isn't saying much, but this is the safety that Mossberg should have installed on their shotguns; the difference is night and day. If you have a Mossberg: you should be getting this safety.

The design fit and finish are perfectly done. Fits the shotgun ideally and works excellent. Couldn't be done better.

Nice! probably not needed but neither was that bag of Doritos that are now staining the keyboard.After checking the chamber rack the slide back and leave it there.Place out a towel or rag to catch anything that might fall under were you will be working.Carefully Remove the screw holding the plastic safety. There is a spring and detent ball that could fall out.Place the new aluminum safety switch on with the tab either ahead or behind the mounting screw (it works either way, just your preference).I recommend putting a small amount of blue locktite on the threads then screw the safety in place. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN!Function the switch and see if it works (on a dry chamber of course).If you are like me you might have to back of the screw and use less torque to tighten again.

Fits my shockwave. Not that hard to install

A MUCH BETTER safety switch for sure! Replaces the cheap plastic safety switch as this upgrade is much easier to deploy and disengage the safety, especially with cold hands & fingers!! My only negative comment,, is that I chose the wrong color. I should have purchased the black coloured one,, as this is highly visible and somewhat of a distraction to the eye from the micro Red dot sight I have mounted on my Shockwave. Get the standard Black one to save a bundle of cash!! I have three more Mossbergs and will be ordering more to outfit these shotguns,, but I will be getting the BLACK coloured ones instead of the pretty coloured ones. Fits both the 12ga and 20ga perfectly! Easy to install - BUT put the safety "on" before you remove the old stock safety!! I am buying more!!!
