A classic from Metheny and a must for any vinyl collector. The instrumental ballads resonate today as much as they did forty years ago. I love it.

This is a wonderful reissue there are so many copies out there that are super expensive I've been waiting for so many years to have this album on vinyl and it sounds clean. its a very soothing and thoughtful album, something throw to relax and reminisce you can hear the raw emotion from the Late great Mr. Haden and Mr. Methney a beautiful soul and guitarist.

I feel like I'm eavesdropping. Listening in on a private conversation between two people sharing things not intended for anyone else.I've cherished this recording since I first got it in the 90's. Pricey import vinyl has been available for a while, but I am glad I waited until this very reasonably Verve vinyl release Stateside.

i'm happy to get one of my favorite album in vinyl. it sounds great.

An impressive and commercially successful guitar/double bass collaboration between Metheny and Haden. Drawing on elements of Americana as well as the jazz and improvisational heritage of the two artists, it is best described as contemporary jazz and approached on its own merits. The double LP re-issue is very well pressed and the packaging and sleeve notes are excellent. Vinyl lends itself superbly well to the warm tones of this music and, although I also have the CD from when it was first issued, this release is now my go to version. My only wish is that it had been released as a gatefold rather than with the notes on the internal paper sleeves.

Ho sempre pensato che la magia musicale non possa essere creata per caso, e/o per volontà, ed invece mi sbagliavo... sicuramente i nostri due grandissimi musicisti non pensavano di generare questi brani così belli, certo...é.. che sono stati anche baciati dalla fortuna, d'altronde si sa che la fortuna aiuta gli audaci, ed infatti.. in queste pieghe musicali, direi.. quasi sussurrate si possono ascoltare delle bellissime melodie, il chitarrista americano edb il suo amico bassista sono riusciti a ricreare un sound dolcissimo, la chitarra possiede un timbro incredibilmente affascinante, è molto melodico, un album questo da ascoltare a luci soffuse, magari per rilassarsi dopo un lunga giornata di lavoro, oppure per rigenerare il proprio spirito. Devo dire che questi 2 mostri sacri della musica americana hanno un'intesa musicale perfetta, raramente mi è capitato di ascoltare così tanta bellezza in un album, i brani sono tutti bellissimi.La registrazione è armonicamente perfetta, il timbro dei due strumenti hanno un impronta calda e di grande impatto emotivo.Io posseggio sia il cd che il vinile, e vi posso confermare tutta la loro bontà sonica che è di altissimo livello.Imperdibile!!
