Phifer 3001966 SuperSolar Screen, 36" x 100', Charcoal

Living in AZ, one can not have enough spare solar shade material. Bought this actually to put screen material on top of my pergola to help with being able to sit outside more and keep it cooler. This totally did the job. After doing a before and after of the temperature of the pavers below the pergola it dropped things by 30-40 degrees depending on the time of day. A few days ago, there was a high of about 90, the pavers in the sun read almost 130 and the pavers under the pergola were about 91.

We went back an forth deciding between tint and screen. The screen won out since ideally it will stop the heat before it makes it to the glass. We live in SW Louisiana so we have very hot summers and a-lot of East facing windows and a very high electric bill since the AC runs almost non stop daily. We bought this screen and we made full window length screens and attached them to our existing windows. Of course right after we get them up we have 2 rainy days and a small cool front so I can't report on how well they work on 100+ days; I can tell you that since we installed them the highs have been around 80 and the east facing windows have been warm to the touch instead of burn your fingers hot. . As for privacy, you can not see through them in the day time, at night you can see through them if the light is on. We are very pleased with our purchase, I will update this review when it gets hot again and also after a new electric bill.*update* almost one year later and we still love our screens. I’ve been asked if we bought a new house so apparently they look good to others too! Our electric bill has dipped and we would definitely recommend this screen.
