Mattel Monster High Toralei Stripe Doll with Pet Sweet Fang

I got lucky and snagged this one for $22.99 on Amazon, just barely over retail price. I've noticed the ridiculous prices she is going for on here right now, but if you wait it out you'll find her for the right price. Check your local Walmart, Target, Toys'R'Us, Gordman's, Kohl's, Sears, KMart, JCPenney, and Justice as well. I know it's a lot of driving around and online searching to do, but you will find her. As far as the doll itself, she's awesome! I think Mattel stepped it up just a notch on the way Toralei looks compared to some of the others. She's brighter, and her outfit and accessories are bright and bold as well. Her body is a bright orange color, brighter than the pictures indicate even. Her hair is a darker orange than her skin, but also nice and bright, with black stripes in the front. It's hard against her head so there really is no need for the brush she comes with. One of the things I like best about her is the way her eyes have been painted. They are bright green cat eyes, much more noticeable and more well thought out than some of the other dolls' eyes. It's also a change from the other dolls that her hands have little studded gloves painted on them. Very cute! She has a long removable tail. I've read on other reviews that her tail pops out easily, but I have had no such problem. The tail on my doll is sturdy and just adds that much more to the look of her. The only thing I've really noticed different about the Toralei doll and the cartoon is that her nose isn't painted like a cat nose, and she doesn't have fangs painted on, but has both of these in her cartoon version. However, even these things being said, I still give the doll 5 stars. The pictures that are featured of the doll online just don't do it justice, and when you see her up front you will understand. OMG!!! I was surfing the web on thanksgiving, and I stopped by amazon (as I do almost daily) in search of those hard to find products at a great price.... I hit the jackpot!!! This doll is one of the newest in the Monster High Collection, and the very first ever Toralei doll!!! My daughter is going to fall on the floor on Christmas Morning. She loves this character in the web shows and she's been asking for it forever, however I kept telling her "honey they don't even make that doll yet." Did I mention I only paid $19.99 for this doll on Thanksgiving morning (Thursday) with amazon prime shipping and by Black Friday morning it was up to $45.00 + shipping cost and only 4 were left in stock??? She is still only $19.99 at Toys R US, however she's only been out a few days so they are completely sold out on their website.... I feel like to coolest Mom ever for catching this doll the exactly time I did, and saving 1/2 of the current asking price : ) God is Good!!!

I am reviewing this from two perspectives. Mine and My 9 year old daughters.From my 9 year old....Love this. He is fun to play with and I love MH. I want them all!From my perspective. Cheaply made. Mattel..come on and step up to the plate. First you make these dolls hard to get at times and therefore make them a tasty piece of meat for all of the Ebay and Amazon gougers who dangle them in front of our children's eyes and scream RARE. Sorry but if you released them as you did your original dolls (when you were trying to entice us to buy into this line at 20 bucks a pop) then there would be no market for these swindlers. Secondly for what these dolls cost I would expect them to last a bit longer. My girl is not hard on her dolls and we take very. very. good care of them but with the toothpick thin pop in joints they are very fragile. To change their clothes sometimes you must pop an arm or leg out...that is how tight the clothes are..and it is like surgery at times. The rubber band that holds the legs together was brilliant...not!So..you see. From a 9 year old they are the cats meow. From a mom..well..I will just say that when I hear there is a new one out, I cringe.

I have 11 other Monster High dolls and this one is about the same quality as the other ones I own. It functions like it should of course, the arms and hands detach and go back on easily enough at least for me. The only problem with the doll is that the long thin tail she has fell off immediately when she was removed from her packaging and no one has been able to get it to stay on her again. Toralei comes with a diary, a brush, a stand, a pet, and a purse. All of those things look good enough, though I find a certain irony in packaging a brush with her seeing as how her hair is rock hard. Overall I'm happy with this purchase, and am still happy with the Monster High line of dolls.

About three weeks before Christmas I was very fortunate to find Toralei and Abby both for their retail cost here on Amazon, instead of the overinflated prices that all re-sellers are charging of 3 times their value. I snapped them up quickly, and gave them to her for Christmas. She was overjoyed and loves them both. I found the Toralei doll to be very well made, articulated, posable, and an excellent addition to my daughter's expansive MH doll collection. If I had to find one criticism, it would be her tail can fall easily at times. This is a very far reaching criticism at best. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and most importantly, my daughter is very happy with her Toralei.

My daughter loves these and so does my wife. The design detail in the entire line is amazing and very creative. Toralei Stripe is no exception. My daughter did take off the removable tail immediately and we haven't seen it since (a tail does interfere with costume changes you know).A word of caution: In the TV series, Toralei is the bad girl. She instigates a lot of trouble with the characters. Had I known this ahead of time, I might have skipped this doll and focussed on the others.

It was in great condition, and arrived earlier than expected.

My daughter loved it she opened it on her birthday she loved it so much she did not really want to open it at first when she opened it she thought it was great i thought it was a great deal while she thought it was a great toy
