Very good

Love the show - unintentionally hilarious throughout. My only complaint is that the discs are packaged in plain black cardboard sleeves. Nothing to tell you which discs are inside without getting them out, and cardboard is far from resilient. I will have to label them up myself or it will drive me crazy. I can live with this though - £27 is a great price for five series' of ANY TV show!

Five seasons together in a very thin box. The individual seasons come packaged in black making impossible (unless you open them) to know which season is each. Nevertheless, excelent value. About the show itself: if you buy it probably you already are a big fan of Angela, excelent series, naive at times but a good one to watch before bed time with your family. It makes you think about how much the world has changed in only twenty years (like the Tango lirics: Twenty years is nothing - Veinte años no es nada!)Hard of hearing: only firts series subtitled HoH English and Dutch. No subtitles on series 2 to 5. No extras.

I love seeing so many golden oldies and have spent enjoyable evenings with them.Pity, though, that one disc was missing - I received disc 4, series 5, twice and no disc 5, series 5. As it is a BIG HASSLE to return the whole box, this is a shame. But I can live with it, I guess, and it does not detract too much of my viewu=ing pleasure.

It has been so good to see Murder, She Wrote again! And what a surprise to see so many well-known actors in their early television debuts! To name a few - a VERY young George Clooney, George Takei (Sulu in Star Trek), LeVar Burton (Geordi Laforge in Star Trek), Charlene Tilton (Dallas), Jerry Orbach (Law & Order) and a host of other well-known faces.Always tongue-in-the-cheek, the actors give excellent performances - especially Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, the crime-solving dame.It's good to relax with some mindless fun with a good twist in the tail for extra measure.I'd recommend it to all lovers of who-dunnits, and those who miss the good old days of television.

I was very disappointed with the packaging on this product it was all creased a bashed up and not protective of the dvds at all ...

4 of the disks failed to worl

If you are female and like fashion as well as light hearted murders this is the series for you. The clothes that Angela Lansbury wears are worth watching to anyone with a sense of fashion and I have copied a few of the ideas myself. You can nearly always guess the murderer if you watch out for the clues but I still find it enteraining. It's light, bright and as it is usually the villain who is the victim, you feel that justice has been done.

Angela Lansbury really was brilliant in this role and she carries the entire programme on her shoulders. She is the believable character when some of the others give a superficial appearance at times. However, this is due to the type of TV produced in these earlier times and maybe in much later series, which I've not watched, the reality improves. But that is not the point - this series is a blast of nostalgia for those days when mystery and detection could be shown on TV without the gratuitous violence, sex and certainly foul language that seems to be typical of the American product nowadays so frequently. Also, the diction is clear - again sometimes it is a struggle to undertand the US language on more modern filmsEach episode gives us nearly an hour of light-hearted pleasure - a great way to unwind at the end of the day while watching Jessica Fletcher tactfully (well, sometimes) teach the various Police Departments how it is done in some cleverly written plots. It is not reality but it is great fun for all the family. No wonder so many series were made.

Als Fan von klassischen Krimis a la Miss Marple bin ich selbstverständlich auch ein Fan dieser Serie, der einzigen ihrer Art im Fernsehen (wenn man von Sherlock-Holmes bzw. Miss-Marple-Verfilmungen absieht. Der größte Pluspunkt aber ist die Hauptdarstellerin Angela Landsbury, die sich hiermit einen Ehrenplatz im Krimiolymp gesichert hat.Auf der anderen Seite hasse ich die Art und Weise, wie die Serie hierzulande behandelt wird. Bei aktuellen Serien mag das Aufteilen einer Staffel in zwei Hälften vielleicht noch vertretbar sein mit dem Argument, man komme einfach mit der digitalen Überarbeitung der Bilder nicht nach. Wenn man aber eine so alte Serie dem Publikum häppchenweise serviert, dann zieht dieses Argument nicht. Man tut es einfach aus dem Grund, das doppelte Geld verlangen zu können.Jetzt zahlt es sich für mich aus, daß ich prinzipell DVDs nur im englischen Original ansehe. So kann ich dieses Schnäppchen ausnützen, und bekomme 5 Staffel zu einem Preis von grade mal 15 Euro pro STaffel, gegenüber mindestens 40
