Can these jars be used for traditional water-bath canning and fermentation, and do the lids provide an airtight seal?

Yes, the 2-piece lid design is intended for water-bath canning. The vacuum seal forms as the jar cools, helping create a secure seal. They are also suitable for fermentation and pickling.

Are the metal lids rust-resistant, and what is the best way to clean them for long-term use?

The lids feature a rust-resistant finish. For best care, hand wash them and dry immediately with a cloth. Avoid soaking or air-drying in damp environments.

Do these jars follow standard mouth specifications for replacement lids and accessories?

Yes, these jars feature a standard wide mouth (86 mm). They are compatible with many universal 86 mm accessories, including fermentation airlocks and replacement lids. The wide opening also makes filling and cleaning easier.

Is the glass dishwasher- and freezer-safe, and can it be used in the microwave?

Made from thick soda-lime glass, the jars are dishwasher safe (glass only) and suitable for freezer storage when leaving headspace at the top. To avoid thermal shock, microwave and oven use is not recommended.

What foods are recommended for this jar size, and is it suitable for long-term pickling?

Suitable for making pickles such as cucumbers, olives, and chili peppers. It can also be used for jams, sauces, and fermented foods like kimchi. The wide mouth allows easy filling and cleaning.
