Debrett's Wedding Guide (Debretts)

So good I have ordered another to give to my daughter's American mother in law to be.Obviously covers the usual etiquette and speeches etc but also has seasonal monthly guides for flowers and honeymoon destinations.It has a warm friendly tine to the writing.I would recommend buying this early on in the preparation and ensuring both sides of the family have a copy. It may help with expectations.I ordered two second hand ones this week. The first arrived and was so good that I ordered another immediately

This guide is the perfect thing to buy when you first get engaged or as a gift for a friend or sister who has just started to plan a wedding. The book itself is beautiful with beautiful photography throughout but also has all of the written content that any bride could need. I was worried that the book may be all pictures and no content but have found the content to be comprehensive and with timelines for planning weddings and answers to all questions wedding based, this is a very valuable resource for any future brides or for those involved in planning a wedding. I bought this as a gift to my sister who got engaged and know that if I should get engaged, this will be the first thing I purchase.

I bought this book as a gift to a friend who is getting married. This book is nicely divided into steps or things to consider when planning a wedding. Where I think it is lacking is in being aimed at young women where the family is all present and extensive. Situations where parents might be divorced are briefly mentioned ans quickly swept under the rug. Possibility that you might be not in your 20s with parends widowed or dead is not even mentioned. Nor are there any tips on how to manouver tricky social situations. Pretty disappointing given the prestige of the publisher.

Great reference guide for wedding planning. Whilst families and areas have their own traditional way of doing things this book provided a good back up and enabled me to ensure nothing was missed. It gave me the confidence to be able to relax knowing I had done my best to ensure all the planning had been backed up by referring to this book

A great book that I've passed onto a future bride. Don't feel you have to do EVERYTHING the book tells you, so don't be too overwhelmed when you look through it. It's meant to be a guide! I found the honeymoon section was very useful; when is the best time to visit places, etc.

I have divorced parents, and this book is especially useful with information on how to work around the sensitive issue. Very informative in this modern age of weddings, I recommend this to anyone who is planning a wedding.The supplier delivered the book promptly, very happy buyer right here!

One of the best wedding guides ever. Nothing 'naff' or gimmicky but still up to date and modern. The best guide for any couple wishing to celebrate their wedding in a traditional and 'correct' style. You won't make any social gaffes if you use Debrett's!

It's ok, I think it could be a good book for someone in the very beginning stage of planning, since I have already been reading some wedding magazines this book wasn't so helpful, just repeated what I already knew
