This is one of the beautiful kukri models. The name; American Eagle derives from the Eagle which is national Symbol of United States, the handle shape is eagle and its famous within US Knife collectors. The blade has beautifully hand skilled craftsman in eastern Nepal. The handle is made of Rosewood with white metal tip/ pommel while scabbard is made of cotton covered with yak hide. The Blade is best for outdoors as well as kitchen for cutting vegetables, meat as well as cutting wood and clearing bushes. This is one of beautiful souvenir or gift items as well. Two Accessory Knives: The Karda; which has a sharp edge is used of skinning animal hairs & other one is called Chakmak (blunt) is used for sharpening blade.

This is my original review: "Don't buy from these people! Bought a knife from them, received 7/19/2018 w/ a defective sheath. Contacted customer service (in CA) that date, after 11 phone calls and 18 texts, received another defective sheath that didn't fit my knife on 9/7/2018. On 9/21/2018 I contacted the CA boy's supervisor in Nepal. No sheath yet (10/8/2018). My impression is NO INTEGRITY!" This is my revised review: I wrote a pretty negative review earlier (all true), since then ... 3 months after purchase, I have an acceptable sheath. I'd buy from them again "IF" I was dead certain they knew "I" was the buyer. p.s. In response to other reviews: A khukuri sheath was designed to lock the blade in, until you press the spine of the blade against the sheath - then you can draw and sheathe it easily.

This is a Big big knife but with a difficult sheath
Absolutely beautiful knife. I had a little trouble putting it back into it's sheath which is also awesome, but I assume because it is brand knew it will come easier in time. I love this kukri! I did have to drop off a star. The sheath is very difficult to 8se almost dangerous. I have only had the kukri a week and took it out of the sheathed maybe four times and already have holes in the sheath from taking it out and returning it. Luckily the holes are on the spine of the knife. I LOVE the kukri, just not,the sheath.

F@$!#ing massive. Beautiful, a work of art. I had no problem with the sheath i got either. I was a little concerned reading some had sheath problems. The knife has a deeper belly than indian versions, and this one is super thick. I bought this as a novelty but i need to field test it on a camping trip. Be warned, it is not for the weak of limbed.

I have been a knife enthusiast, collector and all around fan of blades since I was 8. It is only natural I would end up buying a work of art like a handmade Kukri- HOWEVER. This nice has a CRACK where the blade meets the handle. Defiantley going to the comprise the integrity of the blade... If I can get a exchange for one with no cracks I will change it to 5 stars because it really is beautiful.*Update*They have responded quickly and offered to replace for new one.

This was a nice addition to my collection of khukris.I haven't used it yet but the fit and finish were fine.For it's large size it is surprisingly easy to wield.
