Liked it enough to replace with the same unit.
This is my second Liberate- my first died after about five years of daily use. I purchased a newer device, the Unite Explore, made by Netgear, and it was awful. My wireless internet slowed from 10-20mbps down to 0.1mbps. We troubleshot the device, I replaced the SIM and even replaced the device, but they all performed the same way. Finally, I found a Mifi Liberate on Amazon and purchased it, and it is performing just as well as the old one, with test speeds of 10-20mbps and good, reliable performance.

This is not an AT&T device and will not work with AT&T
This device is made by Novatel Wireless, not AT&T. I bought it since it was advertised as AT&T (and at one time in the past they did manufacture the device for AT&T) and that it would work on AT&T 4G LTE network. It doesn't. The AT&T store manager tried to set it up. It would connect to the network for about 5 seconds then drop the connection. It would then search for about one minute before connecting again. It would keep repeating the cycle. The AT&T person could not get it to work. I e-mailed and called Corporatebuybacks and they never replied to my e-mails or phone call but they did send a new device. Another trip to the AT&T store led to the same connectivity issue. I returned the device yesterday (waiting on refund). I bought an AT&T Velocity and it connected right away and I could actually get on the internet. If you plan on using this Hotspot, make sure you don't have AT&T service otherwise you'll be wasting your time and money. Someone else reported the same issue ( on 6/27, after I bought my device) on the company review site. If I had seen it on the product review site, I would have stayed away from the device.

A wireless hotspot for AT&T's LTE network with stability issues.
This was the third MiFi I own. Not really anything spectacular. The device functions relatively well, provides LTE-grade internet connecitivity through AT&T's LTE network.Device features a touch screen, for viewing device settings and status, connected devices as well as some configurations of the device. I am not sure about this in all devices (since the one I got was not new) -- when the device powers on, the display is very dim. Then when accessing the display brightness setting, it all of a sudden gets a burst of brightness using the same brightness setting. When I power cycle the device, it goes back to dim.In my opinion, the touch screen was more or less useless. As a out-of-sight device, I do not expect to keep looking at the device or have any need to check on the device in any regular frequency. After initial settings, I expect the device to just work when it is turned on.The huge battery was an advantage. On a single charge can last at least an entire day of use 8 hours+ with at least two client devices connected to it.Device stability was something to be wished for.... When the device works, it works well. But frequently the device would randomly freeze without warning. When this happens power button would have no effect, screen does not turn on. The only thing that can be done is to take out the battery, reinstall the battery and turn the device back on. I had this happen a couple of times after the battery was fully charged, and I disconnected the device from the charger as instructed. The stability issues occur even on the latest version of the available firmware, albeit perhaps with less regularityAT&T's network was ok. Network performance was erratic and rather peaky.Overall, this is an ok device, not anything spectacular. The stability problems should caution buyers to perhaps look else where or perhaps be prepared to put up with it.

Worked like a charm and didn't have to activate or configure ...
Worked like a charm and didn't have to activate or configure anything with att. They still think that it's my ipad using the data! Word of caution to any blockheads out there like me: It takes a micro sim card (please download the manual http://www.nvtl.com/files/6513/6218/1903/mifi_liberate_user_guide.pdf, and make sure you insert the sim card right) and use extreme caution when using an adapter! I used http://www.amazon.com/MediaDevil-Simdevil-Adapter-Micro-Standard/dp/B00G26XWDI?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 to go from nano to micro sim and it works great! Hope this helps someone! Enjoy!

Product Functional, But Was Used And Sold As New
The product works ok, but came with WiFi and admin passwords already set and an asset tag sticker on the back from a school district in California. While listed as "new" for the price, clearly this device was used to some extent. How much is anyone's guess. I don't mind buying used if I know it's used, but I think it's a poor business model to tell someone you are selling them one thing and then substitute another item without comment. Since I have no idea how long, or in what ways, this item was used, I had not option but to return it and look for another one that was new from a different reputable seller. I rely too much on this hot spot to not have the confidence it will work as a new one should over time. I'd be cautious about buying from this seller again, based on my initial experience.

Good product but I don't like AT&T!
Works completely as advertised. Just turn it on and it works. Well, sort of. It doesn't come with a SIM card.. Getting a SIM card from ATT is a pain. You can't order a SIM card from ATT by it's self. Even if doing a prepaid plan, you have to pay for the month up front. Not a problem except that you can't purchase the data-only plans online with the SIM, you have to go to an ATT store in person to get the SIM.I would have preferred to get something that worked with T-mobile but I am going on a long road trip and ATT has better coverage across the country. If I decide to keep it after the trip I will definitely get it unlocked and use some other carrier.Additional note:After using it for a month I did have a few issues. Several times the hotspot crashed. The only way to restart is to remove the battery. Also had a few times when it said the connection was "dormant" even though I had good 4G signal. Had to reboot to get it to work. This only happened while I was moving so maybe it had to do with going in and out of range?
