Refill the Insert of the Discontinued Sharpie S.S. Medium Point Marker
Purchased to refill discontinued Sharpie stainless steel medium point black marker. It irked me Sharpie discontinued the medium refill . I also refilled a standard Sharpie fine point permanent marker just to see if I could. Worked great. I recommend you use a Chameleon tweezers No. CT9601 to remove the felt tip. I have not tried refilling the discontinued Sharpie stainless steel fine point black marker. The felt tip is much smaller. Ink is permanent and dense BLACK, wear latex style gloves and cover work surface with a plastic sheet for WHEN you spill. I cut a piece of plastic grocery bag and placed a piece of paper towel on top of the plastic to protect the surface from ink staining. Rubbing alcohol can be used to clean your fingers somewhat. Ink bottle has a rubber seal in the lid to keep the ink from drying out after opening it. Of course, now you can buy a Sherpa brand marker cover and just swap out the empty standard Sharpie pen with a fresh pen.

Very black and very permanent!
I gave this five stars because there is nothing "wrong" with it - it really is black, permanent ink. And they give you a little syringe thing in the box, which I thought was a nice touch and very helpful. But for MY purposes, this didn't work as hoped. For those in the eye business with a manual lensometer that needs ink, this is NOT what you want. The ink doesn't want to come off the lenses! If you rub hard and long enough with an alcohol pad, you will finally get the marks off, but you really should get a DIFFERENT ink for a lensometer. This ink is a little too 'effective' and hard to remove from spectacle lenses.

Poor description of a refill
I was expecting something like another felt refill that slipped into the barrel of the jumbo marker. Instead you get a bottle of permanent ink that I literally poured into the barrel of the marker in order to saturate the felt inside. It took almost the whole bottle and there was no way of determining when enough was enough. Next time I will just buy a new pen and not go through the hassle of a refill.
