Great Optic For The Right Application: Sightmark Ultra Shot R Spec
Ok, just so you know, this is a reflex optic vs an Eotech which is a holographic sight. It is made in the same country that makes the IPhone and most of the computers. With any optic you really need to think about what you are going to use it for. This optic has zero magnification, it is not a "scope". It is designed for short to intermediate range use and for quick acquisition of a target (snap shooting). Range would be close up out to about 300 yards from a practical standpoint. I used it at a local 100 yard range and it put the rounds from my CZ Scorpion Carbine (9mm) in a circle of about 2 1/2"-3" on a sunny day. The optic is made in the same country as your IPhone, most computers and chips. The build quality is much higher than you would expect compared to what you are paying. The reticles are very clear when you use the optic and light levels properly. I called Eotech to ask about how to use a red dot reticle properly. They said that to use it properly, the reticle should be as low intensity as possible and still see it and that all red dot sights will "bloom" when the setting is too bright for the ambient light level. So, set the light level so you can see the reticle but do not have any "bloom" and it works great. Many people think something is wrong with the sight because they have a "bloom" but it is working properly...just turn down the light intensity. Another important factor to consider is parallax correction. This has a 10yd parallax correction distance meaning the dot will be accurately located on target from about 10yds and beyond. This is good for accuracy with some sights are parallax corrected from 25yd or 50yd. I have an Eotech and this is 90% as good for the average person's application (non-military) and more functional on a day to day basis. I bought the R-Spec because I wanted a quick release that folded in closer to the sight and would not get hung up on clothing etc. Also, I wanted a sight that shuts off in an hour or so and not 12hr and is a bit more water resistant. This sight is about 10% larger than the more basic version but still fits on the gun well...an Eotech 512 is much larger in length as a comparison. The controls are easy to use however unlike some of the very early Sightmark reflex sights, cycling through the light levels takes longer. Early models had a dial that you could go from low to high in a split second. This push button makes you go step by step and going from level 3 to level 10 just takes longer. It works fine but keep that in mind. The way you adjust the quick release lever to be tight to the gun is a bit lame. You get a wrench and it works but I would prefer a non-custom wrench to make adjustments. In fact, I would prefer a non-quick release version. If I want to use the sight on another gun, I'll get a standard allen wrench and just move it. The windage and elevation adjustments are easy to work but it takes an allen wrench which is ok once you make the adjustments. The sight stayed sighted in under rapid fire of about 40 rounds of 9mm. I believe it is rated at 338 Win. Mag. Using this for your standard 5.56 AR and 308 AR should not be a problem. A 12ga with slugs would be a very good test. On conclusion, I would say that this is a very good option for your AR or similar carbine to the CZ Scorpion which is very cool. I considered the Sig Romeo 4, Vortex and a couple others and ended up here due to best value for the things I would typically want in a red dot optic. The Sig Romeo 4 and EOTech and a few other do have some awesome features and will likely be an better option when considering lifetime warranty, longer battery life, ranging reticles and so on. But for the price and the fact that I am not an "operator" who's life depends on 100% durability and performance...this is all I need. I also just did not have the money to get one of the higher options. This optic is right in the "sweet spot" for those who don't want to spend 3x-5x more on a military grade optic and still want a reliable optic for the range, competition or hunting. Bottom line is just go buy one of the Sightmark sights that fits your price point and needs and have fun. If in 3 years it fails, go buy another one and you are still ahead of what you would have spent on some of the more "elite" sights.

great "budget" sight
This is the 2nd of these sights I have purchased, they attach easily to the picatinny rail and are simple to use. Out of the box the sight was pretty dead-on, I like having the option to change from a red dot to the green bullseye style, and even taking the sight off one rifle and putting it on another, it was still dead-on accurate. Great sight for basic use without a ton of money spent.

Great Sight For a PCC
Easy to install, reticle is easily visible in all lighting conditions, and it has held zero from initial setup on my Diamondback DB9.

Few problems, few good things.
If you stare at the sun for an hour, that is how much retinal damage you will get from looking through this sight on Max green setting at night, IT HURTS SO GOOOD!!! Max red is perfect for night, indoors, never in full sunlight. Green varies in suitable strength for full sunlight,(Phx, Az) black of night, anything. Reticle is clear, but unfortunately noticeably slanted. I dropped it (alone) 5 feet into concrete and hit the shroud. It took it with only a minute scuff. Took a few mags of 308 Winchester ar 10 and retained on to the weapon. It shuts off after an hour even if your in a gunfight.........Yeah guys... The Texans are responsible for this one? Jk Texans. You turn it on, it comes to your last brightness and color. Nothing to easily index off of to easily actuate buttons for in-gunfight tactical optic adaption. Aperture of sight(mm) is astronomical and I liiiike. Little bit bulky(comes with the territory, looks like a million bucks aesthetically. 4 out of ten. I pay more, you perform with that look and recoil tolerance and shock tolerance and large reticle selection and optical modularity and more. Wrench is a little tight of a fit in between the frame for first installation. Cannot speak to accuracy but parallax is truly adjusted at 25 years, 75 feet.

This is a solid sight!
I bought this along with another sight for comparison and I decided to go with the Sightmark R-Spec. I put this on my Stribog 9mm and it just seem to really belong there :-) I list the pros and cons below: Pros: - All controls are easy to operate (reticle selector clicks into place for each setting) - Elevation and windage adjustment are easy to operate - Easy to mount (quick release is my preference) - Housing is extremely well built and provides excellent protection for the lens Cons: - Maybe a bit expensive for most people (at least in my opinion) so look for good deal - Maybe a bit big for some platforms. (In my case, this maybe a bit oversize for the Stribog but I think it made a really strong statement. So I actually love it! Others may want to consider the size carefully.) - The unit (because of the large size) obstructs the iron sight completely so no absolute co-witness possible unless you attach a different iron sight. You may try 1/3 co-witness. Final thoughts. I believe this is well worth the price even though it exceeds my budget. I'm only using this for my shooting hobby (home defense, range, etc...) so I think this is more than adequate. I did look at cheaper alternative but I think comparing the cost and what I would get, I would choose the Sightmark R-Spec again. Final final thought. There is also the Sightmark Core A-Spec (smaller size) that you could consider if you want something smaller. I actually opted for that at first until I realize I cannot change color (red only) and I cannot select reticle mode (dot only). So if those are not important for you, it maybe a better choice. For me I like the options on the R-Spec.

Worth every penny
Awesome sight- not shake awake but that feature isn’t included in most sub $100 sights -

Sightmark Ultra Shot R- Spec Reflex Sight
This is a solid reflex sight! It's easy to mount, use, and is durable. Live the quick release mount as its mounts up solid but is still easy to remove if needed. Reflex sights are definitely the way to go if you like to shoot with both eyes open as there isn't any parallax. Brightness levels covers any lighting situations and battery life is good but unit does not support night vision equipment. There is a bit of flare on the highest brightness settings but isn't an issue in any setting I have used it in. Unit is not shake awake so you have to turn it on. Unit is a bit heavy but is well built so can take abuse. Field of view is a bit less than an Eotech sight but it doesn't cost $500.00 either! Solid value for the money for most of us who aren't on a SEAL team but want a Reflex sight on our AR.

Large green radical is extremely easy to acquire.
Best value for your money. Seriously for $100 you can't go wrong. The site is crisp, clean with numerous brightness settings and several choices on radical types. I always prefer the green site settings over the red because the red option tends to cast a red glare on the bottom corner left side lens. I also find that green is much easier to acquire on painted steel targets or paper targets that have multiple colors. I have a Vortex Venom and the red dot gets lost on a red colored targets where as the green on green is much easier to distinguish. It took about 15 rounds to get fully sighted in at 25 yards and then 100 yards. Was able to identify and hit steel at 200 yards very easily, target was 18" by 20" using 223 55gr. range ammo . Look seriously, just a weekend warrior here that shoots maybe once or twice a month at the most. This is my first time shooting with this product and I couldn't be more pleased. On my review I gave it four stars because I felt that the Red Dot option was not all that clear of an experience with some light bleeding over. This is an update to the first part of this post. Just less than 200 rounds the crosshairs now tilt to the right. I've been calling sightmark for days with no answer whatsoever except for a short discussion with the operator which transferred me to a department that the phone just kept ringing. As of today I still have not being in contact with sightmark to resolve this problem. I will try to update this post things progressed.

puntatore olografo Sightmark ultra shot R-Spec

Good budget-friendly optic
Seems like a decent build. Reticles are crisp. Lock is secure. I have an EOTECH and Holosuns, this seems like a good option for 22lrs - better chance at holding zero. Parallax is good, minimal shifting if any.
