Gobe 37mm UV Lens Filter (3Peak)

I was sold by the marketing and after changing camera makes/mounts I invested heavily in Gobe filters for one reason or another.2 stars because the 3 peak range is German glass and the cloth is decent.Without fail all filters I ordered were delivered filthy. Two were unusable including this one. Getting Gobe to honour their lifetime guarantee is like getting blood of of a stone.This particular top of the range UV filter was scratched in a few places on the 'inside' of the filter. So misuse or damage was impossible after being fitted. Threads on all seemed dodgy. My 3 Peak CPL wouldn't screw on at all, some needed a little 'help' finding a thread and all seem to tighten by themselves once on the lens (user's fault I shouldn't wonder) . Just for reference I bought around 20 filters with an average price of £20, 3 peak were more expensive, some discounted. Doing the maths I'm not really that pleased.I'd steer clear if I were you.

Clear with no distortion, effective against UV light and excellent physical protection for front end of lens. Supplied in a brilliant round storage tin. Excellent bit of kit!

After issues with new Hoya filters arriving marked (a problem others have had judging by my online searches), I decided to try another brand. While it's not as bad as the Hoya filters, the Gobe filter was also dirty on opening. The attached is after I'd been trying to blow the bits off with a dust blower for a few minutes.The box was sealed, so I can't see how the filter would have been used.I tried the included lens cloth, and that only makes things worse - adding smears and more bits that come from the cloth.I'm not opening the filters in an environment that adds these bits - the filters I already own and use in the same environment are fine.This item was bought for me, but I hope to return it.
