Excellent picture for a bright room.
I primarily use this set for Xbox One X gaming, Netflix and the occasional 4k UHD disc. Out of the box the picture looks great although I did turn off the smooth motion to get rid of the soap opera effect. Like many I scrutinized specs and features on sites like rtings.com and ended up on this set. It's not the top of the line but for me the marginal difference wasn't worth the price difference.Input lag is very good especially in Game mode. I actually play outside of game mode most of the time. The increase in lag is slightly noticable but unless I'm playing competitive multiplayer it is very manageable.Local dimming works well too. I have not noticed reverse halos, blooming, dimmed stars or delayed scene dimming or brightening mentioned in other reviews. One slight disappointment for me was the Variable Refresh Rate only works in 1080p. Some may prefer the smoother framerate but I prefer a sharper image, especially on such a large screen.Another slight issue I notice is some artifacting around HUD items like radar. I'm not sure if this is a result of interpolation or a limitation of the motion resolution but it is there.Despite those two nitpicks, I'm very pleased with this set. Colors are rich and vibrant and the screen looks great in an open living room with windows.

Xbox One X + This TV = Gaming Heaven
If your looking for a TV with low input lag (15ms) AMD Freesync (Variable Refresh Rate) and OVER 1000 nits of peak brightness and 98% HDR COLOR coverage than look no further. This tv is better than any gaming monitor due to its ability to reproduce HDR with its full array backlit panel and quantum dot lcd sheet.

No surround sound for Netflix HBO no DTS?
So just got this great looking tv and fired it up to watch a movie....my surround sound kept "clicking" each time I went to start a movie on Netflix, followed by no sound. My sound bar and sub are connected through digital audio out (optical)....apparently these APPs and other formats use DTS, but is not supported by this TV. I have now seen a million complaints online, but did not come across any on Amazon. I really hope that I'm wrong about this or that someone can offer a solution.

Excellent TV for bright room with lots of glare and reflections
I have a very bright room with lots of reflection and glare. After extensive research it appeared as this was the best TV on the market right now for bright rooms with many windows and lights that cause screen glare. My previous TV was hard to view without closing blinds and turning off lights. This TV model has the highest anti-glare rating of all current TV's and does a good job of minimizing my bright room characteristics. Be forewarned though, that the screen itself is smooth, flat and glossy. While Samsung says it has an anti-glare screen, it does not have a notebook-style screen coating on top of the glass and it will not eliminate reflections as good as a laptop would (if you are familiar with their anti-glare screen coatings). It appears as though it has some sort of brownish filter layer behind the glass that reduces glare, so you will still see major glare when the TV is off or during dark scenes. The brightness of QLED simply drowns out reflections during lighter scenes. I can now watch TV during the daytime. I've tilted the TV downward a bit so that reflections aren't directed right back to the viewer and this also helps. The bottom line is this TV works way better than my previous flatscreen TV.My only major disappointment with this TV is the universal remote's capability. It doesn't control my external equipment well, which are all less than 1 year old. It won't turn on or off my Yamaha receiver, my LG Blu-ray player, or my DirecTV box. It might turn a device on, but it will not turn it off. Sometimes it changes sound volume, sometimes not. So I still have to keep all my other remotes handy because they are still needed every time I use the TV. It does control Roku box ok because that device is always on. Seems to me this could have been implemented better especially since my components are so new. The remote itself is small and well designed. I just wish the "universal" part really operated as it should. This TV was delivered in proper shape, however there was some compression of the outer box on one end. During Blu-ray DVD playback the entire screen would blink and flash. A Samsung representative confirmed that the HDMI board was likely cracked, which is consistent with impact. The TV has a remote diagnostics capability (if connected to wi-fi) that allows Samsung to inspect problems. They were able to confirm my DVD playback experience and issued me a case number to reference and said if my retailer did not accept my return Samsung would step in and assist me. My retailer, Beach Camera, accepted the return without hassle so Samsung was not engaged. Kudus to both parties for taking care of me! I repurchased the same TV again and this time there are no problems.

Excellent picture.
Great picture! nice cable routing, easy to set up. Except the remote setup is not cooperating with my system. [ I am using a Yamaha Aventage amplifier as hub for the cable and DVD, Xbox, etc.] The remote does not 'see' the amp, only my DVD player which now has to be on whenever the TV is on. I'm sure that this minor problem will be solved eventually.Longevity is a big question mark. My last two Samsung TV's suffered early failures.

Blown Away
We have been enjoying our new TV about 3 days now, it is replacing a 5 year old Sony 4K TV without HDR...OMG what a huge difference that is noticeable right away, it’s like I am watching 4K movies that I own for the first time. There is so much more detail in all the scenes, the motion rate of this TV is also phenomenal. The action sequences in Ready Player One were so realistic and vivid my wife and I were just stunned. I am not huge of taking my time to write reviews, but this TV is exceptional and it exceeds all my expectations.A side note- the package I got when purchasing this tv was also great, it included an Xbox One X and extended warranty’s for both devices. Seller was fast and all my items came in perfect condition, could not be happier about purchase.

Great 4k picture
So far so good. Mounted pretty easily. Picture with 4k video is fantastic. Only negative that i didnt realize was the q8 doesnt come with the one connect box. The q7 and q9 both do. No idea why the q8 shouldn’t.

My New TV
Be careful for what you wish for. This baby has so much technology, I think it will take me years to learn it all. It even goes on the web, does it all.
