Septic System Drain Field Cleaner

I don’t have any specific need for it right now - thank God, but I like to use sort of product once per year or so just as a little insurance. I have a 40+ year old septic system and I don’t want to have to sink 30 or 40 grand in a new sand mound system. I also try to avoid putting chemicals down the drain at any time - especially bleach-based chemicals. A properly designed and built septic system will take care of you for a long time, but if you start dumping bleach or flushing away things you shouldn’t it will let you know - and it will not be ignored.

This was easy to use and it did breakdown the scum layer on top until it was a nice brown water color but it didn't do anything to help the drain field. If I see a change, I will update this review. Update: Moved to 4 stars for the customer service and level in tank has started to go down, after 2 weeks. Phase 2: Ok so I started using Bio-Tab monthly and got to about 22 gallons a day drainage. I decided to shock my tank with 2 bottles of this poured in on the outlet side of tank after draining tank down to the bottom of the inlet pipe. I wanted this to go straigth to the leachfield. I put 2 pods of montly powder in the other side of the tank as well. I'm now upto 35 gallons a day, drainage after only 3 days, so I am going to change my rating to 5 stars. Phase 3: I still use the Bio-Tab monthly and then a Cabin Obsession pod 2 weeks later. I added Drain Field Cleaner (outle side) after some heavy usage and 2 pods (inlet side) just as I was leaving for a trip. I was gone 4 days and the level in the tank dropped 1 inch below inlet pipe, which it had never done. 2 days later it was still, 1 inch below the inlet pipe. This stuff works but it has been a long slow process. I started treating my septic system back in December of last year and am now just getting around 100 gallons a day through the drain field daily.

This really works well for septic tanks, also kills roots that grown near the tanks and will stop them up. Husband uses it monthly.

It was easy to use but I won't know how it works for awhile. Will see.

I have been using "Obsession" products for years....with very good results....our 87 year old septic system is in excellent working order... PS...."Obsession" sounds like it should be the name of a perfume....but in a roundabout way it probably is a perfect name for a septic product.....

Helped clear out my drainfield! Poored it in end of septic tank where it drains directly into the drainfield without diluting the product!
