For a first time may, this is great and kids can get good use out of it to improve their timing. However, as far as longevity is concerned I wouldn't expect it to last too long. The plastic is fairly thin and too much force can easily break the counter. I would say it's fine for cubes or stacking cups but don't expect this to be in service for more than a few months to a year. Great for the beginner phase.

I got this for my son, who has recently become obsessed with solving the Rubik’s(?) Cube. He absolutely LOVES it!! He already had a timer for cup stacking, but he says he likes this one a lot more! Even though it states on the box to review the instructions, there were none to be found! Easy fix though - Just search online for “Instructions YQ Toys timer”, and video instructions should pop up.

Too small. Not wide enough.

This is an entry-level timer for cubers or stackers that are probably priced high. This timer functions well, but the instructions have some strange translation issues, which are, fortunately, unnecessary. The timer is pretty thin plastic and I am not sure it would take a lot of abuse and could break so there are some durability concerns. The big issue here is that seems to be priced high.

Timer:Instructions were not well written, but understandable. It’s nice that it has a save feature for best times, but it’s kind of confusing to use. The edges where your hands go has some sharp edges so it’s not as comfortable when quickly stopping.Mat:Comes with instructions to insert the knobs, but they don’t show that there are two holes on each side and the timer that comes with it uses the outside holes. I really like the thickness and size of the mat, but that could be a downside if you wanted a smaller one for transporting.

My kids are big speed cubers so I had to get this set for them. The mat is very nice and big. The timer is the traditional timer. Great set overall!

So I'm not a Rubik's Cube expert/competitor. In fact I've only finally learned how to solve it recently. I taught my kids and are now obsessed with seeing who can do it the fastest. I got tired of keeping a timer for them and found these on Amazon. It's exactly what I was looking for because it's simple enough to use and the kids have fun trying to get the "world record". My problem with it is the cost. I think it could be a little lower so I dinged it 1 star. This thing will probably collect dust once they get tired of the game, but at least the mat could be used as mouse pad.
