For years I experienced abdominal pain and neither I nor doctors could figure out why. Finally tried simethicone and - at least for my problem - it does the trick. (Apparently the problem is trapped gas.) Most capsules sold in foil packs - at 125 or 180 mg - are not strong enough to work if you take just one. 250 mg seems to be the magic number. You can find these in foil packs if you look hard, but they're going to be more expensive than getting a bunch in a plastic container, such as with this product. I did try another brand that comes the same way, and even though they were both supposed to be the exact same product in the same strength, this brand works better. I think I pay about a penny more per pill with this brand, but the comfort is well worth it! Thinking about it more... this product is best for me because I need it every day. If a person only has occasional need for it, this many gel pills in one container might start sticking together by the time the entire bottle is used. For these people, the separately wrapped gel pills in foil packs would be better. Pills are small, very easy to swallow, and start taking effect in about 15 minutes.
