Rolex GMT-Master Hardcover

I started collecting Rolex wathes in 2013 and acquired this book from the publisher (in Italy) in 2021. I believe it to be out of print as of this date (June 2024) -- which is probably why the price has more than tripled since I got my copy -- but for anyone who collects these wristwatches, this book is mandatory. Vintage watch buying can be a minefield and it wouldn't take much to get layed away by some unscrupulous seller pawning off a Frankensteined piece at top dollar...that's how people lose massive amounts of money. In the same way a fine art collector requires provenance and verification of the authenticity of an artist's work before shelling out thousands, if not MILLIONS, of dollars, a watch collector needs highly detailed information if he is to determine just how original (or unoriginal) a watch is before he commits to the purchase. THIS book provides exactly that. Even down to the aftermarket bezel and dial options dating back five decades or more, with clarification on years of production, serial number details, and ultra-high quality digital photgraphs of every know reference number and model produced, using guaranteed genuine example of the watches. For anyone willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a vinatge Rolex watch, another $1,000 to protect the veracity of that investment is certainly worth it.

It is a beautiful book and came sooner than predicted so that I was able to to present it to my husband for Christmas. We love the book! He collects GMT Masters and this is a big help to him in his research.
