The soil looked good to me. I used for starting tomato seeds and they are growing well.

I've been a gardener for a long time and just purchased Purple Cow Seed Starter soil for an early start on our lettuce plants. The results have been outstanding. This wasn't the cheapest soil available, but the quality of the soil is the best I've seen and well worth the slightly higher cost.

I bought this soil to give soil blocking a try this growing season. This soil absorbs water nicely and remains in a perfect block form. The soil is a great texture and seems filled with rich nutrients for my plants.

A little to compact but all seeds started.

Seriously, less than 3 days and 5 of the 6 I dropped popped. I have not seen these types of results in decades! I've been growing cannabis since 1977 and to just be able to drop a seed in dirt and add water... well let's just say you can't do that much anymore with mother earth. Seriously, between this, their IndiCanja and bio pack it doesn't get any simpler. Frankly, at my age I'm enjoying simple! Thanks Purple Cow for another home run!

You don't want to play around with your business and mix your own seed starting blends. You want a competent and well crafted source that is reliable and never fails. This seed starting mix is used by the beat in the business.

Very disappointing to have tried seed starting in this mix. It's much too dense for seed germination. It's like trying to sprout seeds through cement. Out of 72 seeds planted, only two germinated. Same seeds that germinated perfectly at nearly 100% germination in another brand of seedstarting mix that is noticeably lighter in soil density.
