So far I'm as impressed as I was hoping to be.
5/9/2019 Updated Review:I just got back from a 10 day moto ride and camp to/in Moab. I could not be more pleased with the Cave. With some daily highs in the 90s, some nightly lows in in the 30s, several 40+mph wind/sand storms, and a couple of days of rain, this tent was solid. It did not budge in the winds, and there were zero issues with the rains, even with a small stream of water that passed under parts of the tent when the rain was at its heaviest. More than enough room for me and ALL of my gear (moto top box, pannier bags, riding pants/jacket, helmet, soft cooler, 5gal water container, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, helinox chair/table, etc). The only issue I had on day 1 was that because of the heat, I set both doors to screen only on the first day (rain fly fully closed), and the wind storms put about .25" of sand/silt over the entire interior of the tent. I was so impressed with the Cave as a basecamper that I am now in the process of replacing my smaller, "overnighter" tent with a Scorpion.======================2/20/2019 Original Review:I wanted to replace my 25yo Eureka Summit expedition tent. Something with enough room to not just sleep in, but to spend time in during longer trips, less than ideal weather, and/or the longer, colder nights of the winter season. I finally got to try the Cave out this past weekend. I was aiming for 3 nights in the desert near Death Valley. I didn't realize that part of the route I chose took me over a mountain pass, or that it was going to snow. After riding most of the day in the rain, the rain began to turn to snow. Just as I was wondering if I should stop or turn around, I saw a sign for some campgrounds. I got the tent up in the snow and used just 7 of the 23 stake-out points (each of the 4 corners, 2 front vestible, 1 rear vestiblue). There was plenty of room inside to change from my wet moto gear into dry, warmer in-for-the-night gear. With the wind, it would have been nice to have fully staked out the Cave, but the tent did just fine with the 7 stakes. Packed up and moved on to my final destination the next day when it was warm enough to do so. Once where I was going, and without being in a hurry due to weather, I got the tent set up and fully staked out for the winds that were blowing non-stop. The tent did not budge in those winds. I did bend a stake, and there was a small missed stitch on one of the pole sleeves, but overall I am as impressed as I was hoping for with this tent. It's definitely more of a base-camp type tent - for multiple nights, longer nights, weather issues, better half with me on the trip, etc. For my one-nighters I'll still be using my 2-person tent (1 person and gear), but for everything else, I look forward to the use of the Cave.

Great Tent.
This is an amazing tent. When we first got it we camped in the backyard in cool weather to test it's warmth and it was perfect. It also rain those two days and everything stayed dry inside. I did not want to write a review until we had tested it out on a real camping trip environment. Over Labor Day weekend we camped in it and it stayed dry through horrible thunder storms, wind and rain fall. We are in Texas and have been getting some pretty bad storms for awhile this year. This storm flooded out the tent of the other people we were camping with, but we stayed dry and comfortable. We had to evacuate the tents due to flash flooding and high winds (tree limbs). We stepped out of the tent into 2-4 inches of water, but no water came inside.I highly recommend this tent if you are looking for something for all weather camping. It is very simple to set-up and take down. Weight is not that bad, considering what you are getting. The pieces can easily be divided between two people for backpacking, if you are concerned about weight. It will hold 4 people snugly or two adults and 2 children easily. We put a queen size air mattress in it and it fit with room on the sides for other items. We used a tarp for a footprint, but will be making out own size specific footprint, as I have not found one specifically for it yet.We will be testing it out in Hot Texas weather soon and I will give an update on that.

Snugpak = low quality and poor customer service - Not Recommended
I purchased this tent for an expedition on Mt. Rainier. The tent held up great in 40+mph winds however the shock cord only lasted one year!! Contacted Snugpak directly and they said I'm out of luck and won't replace, or compensate me for the expense of replacing the shock cord.Funny thing is that I have 30+ year old tents from KMart that have lasted longer than my tent from Snugpak.I would not recommend this brand to anyone.

The Cave Truly Lives Up to its Name.
I haven't gone camping with this yet but after setting it up in my garage to see how I would put it together in the field, I must say I love it so far. It is a portable mansion. This 4 person, 4 season tent is a great deal for the price. Most 4 season tents this size range anywhere from $500 to $800.Needless to say its a good deal. I've yet to test its water tightness but after inspecting the seams and reading the product information the seams look water tight. But I will get back to you on that. Its very easy to set up. It took me less than 10 minutes to set it up myself. But thats not factoring in the time it would take to stake it out and put out the many guy lines. I would have to estimate anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes. Possibly quicker depending on factors like environment, weather, if you're camping by yourself or with another person. Either way, its very easy to set up. I love that its dark inside the tent when the rainfly is on it. It lives up to its name; The Cave. The front vestibule is very spacious. Just by looking I know I can fire up my camp stove in vestibule without too much worry. Of course I'd open the vestibule before igniting the stove. The rear vestibule is more of a rear storage area than anything else. There isn't that much head room back there. I like that the tent has 2 doors. This will definitely help with ventilation. And each door has a no-see-um mesh on it to let it the breeze but keep out the bugs. The rainfly is also ventilated but can be closed with a velcro patch.Out of curiosity, I wanted to know if it could hold a folding cot. And low and behold it can! By doing so, you can, at most, fit 2 cots depending on the size. By point in the cots you cut your capacity in half. I'm not a big fan of cots on camping trips. I feel like its cheating, in my opinion, but if you have a bad back and need one then this tent an accommodate you and your cot.Overall, I'm loving this tent. I would give it 5 stars but I've yet to fully test it. So for now 4 stars will have to do. Rest assured that I will update this review when return my camping trip. Until then, I recommend this tent.UPDATE:I just got back from a camping trip and I must say that this tent is a great investment. I haven't fully put it through its paces but it did keep me sheltered from the cold. The weather was averaging 50-60F during the day and 30-40F at night. Wind gust averaging 10mph. When I was in the tent I could feel a difference in the temperature from inside to outside. Of course it wasn't a drastic difference but enough to notice. Perhaps I just couldn't feel the wind. Either way, I was completely comfortable. For the 3 days I went camping the tent housed me, my 85 pound dog, and some of my gear with plenty of room for another person. So far, I am pleased with its performance. What I liked the most was that the front vestibule was roomy enough to cover a small three legged folding chair while I'm sitting it in. I'm 5'5" so this may not work for everyone. Nonetheless, it was roomy enough for me to sit in the chair and use it as place to take off my boots without getting into the tent and tracking in dirt and mud. Also there were plenty of tent stakes that came with the kit. Even with all the guy lines staked down I still have some leftover to use for my make-shift doormat.I haven't tried the tent out in the snow yet but rest assured I will and you will be the first to know about. Until then, I highly recommend this tent.

and it breathed pretty well (no humidity build up inside)
Works extremely well. Light weight for a 4 person tent. A true 4 season tent. I used it 3 times last winter, the coldest day was -20C, it was cozy, and it breathed pretty well (no humidity build up inside).
