Saint Martin de Porres

Easy read, informative

Although it may be written as a "child's book," any adult who reads this book should come to know, appreciate, and fall in love with St. Martin de Porres. I have recommended this version of his life's story to many people over the years. I love it.

I loved this book so much that because of it, I have 4 different books on the life of St. Martin. I was a Protestant Christian when I was led to this book because of certain struggles I was having with work and God used it to open my eyes to the Catholic faith (among many things). He lived an amazing life and each time I read one of his biographies, it just inspires me but you can really the sense the holiness on this man's life. While I did not convert to Catholicism, I did convert to Eastern Orthodox. These two expressions are full of saints like him and opens your eyes to a seriousness, holiness, and power with God not really found in Protestantism. And though I'm not Catholic, St. Martin is my favorite saint and I often seek to emulate him as he emulated Christ. You will not be disappointed.

I loved this book about Saint Martin de Porres. It is a beautiful introduction to the life of this Great Saint. I say an introduction because it leaves out the fact that Saint Martin performed extreme penances in front of the Blessed Sacrament in Church every night. He flagellated himself until blood flowed. I do believe that one reason was he knew the errors that his fellow children of the African diaspora would be seduced into, and he loved us and wanted to save as many of us from damnation that he could. I believe that his prayers and sacrifices lead to my own conversion of life.This book is very important however, because it shows that he acted as the Great Physician, Christ Jesus had and cured many in and in soul. I highly recommend this book and am buying more copies to give as gifts. Thank you very much!

Very good book

The "Saint Martin de Porres" book is a Quality product arrived on time exactly as advertised. Beautiful black and white pictures with historically accurate biography.

unfortunately the person this was for, didn't get to read it, RIP.
