Last year this B12/folate replaced my St John's Wort I've taken for 20 years for depression as well as 5-HTP for anxiety and a female formula that helped with suicidal thoughts. My natural Dr said the others, although they worked well for me, weren't what my body needed. I didn't believe her at first. But she was right!!! When I take this regularly, I feel like I'm normal, like nothing was ever wrong. It's a subtly different and better feeling than with the other supplements. Then last year I had a hysterectomy:( I chose to support my body naturally instead of taking estrogen replacement. In the following months I discovered that if I take one of these once every 3-4 hours, I don't get any hot flashes!!!!! (I also avoid sugar, dairy, and wheat, take a few other supplements and drink plenty of water. All of these other things I have done more or less for the last 2 years) Of course I've experimented a hundred times:) because I like sugar dairy and wheat and I also procrastinate on taking my pills. But at this point, if I get a hot flash, it's totally my fault. If I wait a little too long to take my B12/folate (or eat something something bad for me), I get a feeling like I need something really really bad and then I get really thirsty and the a few seconds later I have a mild hot flash. It's just a gentle reminder that I can laugh at now:) and best of all, i can do something about it!!!! :) This particular B12/folate seems to be hard to find. She told me some scientific reasons, that were above my head, about why this formulation is the best for me. She said its important to have the methylcobalamine instead of the other form, and to have the ratio and doses of each right. Pure Encapsulations is the only brand I found to meet her standards. But it works so I'm happy:) :) :) And like usual, Amazon has the best price I have found. The only thing I wish is that they offered it on the subscribe n save program so I could set it up to receive it every month, or that it came in a bigger bottle. But those are things i can live with. This B12/Folate is my friend for life now:)
