Review: Worth the effort to follow the instructions. - Sika is a leading brand in construction, therefore I knew this would be a quality product I could trust. Very easy to follow instructions on the packaging. It may seem costly but not having to weed the block paving every few weeks is worth the expense and has given my old block paving a new look. If like mine were the joints are full of dirt and moss there will be some hard, but beneficial work to remove before using the sand. The sand is very fine and fills the gaps easily. Once the gap’s are full clear any excess by sweeping diagonally across the joins to avoid removing the sand from them. Then simple dampen with a fine mist spray with either a hose or fine rose on the watering can. You can walk on the surface but the sand does take a day or two to dry. Review: Leaves a firm, solid finish - Nice to use, very fine sand. It has set hard been down several weeks now. The ants have pushed it up in a few places ha & the weeds are still growing through it unfortunately. I did put weed killer down everywhere beforehand. So is disappointing as I'd hoped it would prevent completely. It does leave a slight colour on the bricks, so be careful when using. I took my time & tried to pour it in all the joints. I'd buy again though ## Features - Causes serious eye irritation. - Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use. - PERFECT FOR BLOCK PAVING – Use it to finish off your footpaths, patios, indoor stone floors, pedestrian areas and driveways. - LONG-LASTING – Cures to a hard finish that resists cracking and doesn't get washed away by rain or water. - NO NEED TO WEED – This sand cures in water, leaving a hard finish that resists the growth of weeds and insect movements. - IDEAL FOR MOST APPLICATIONS – Works best on joints between two and five millimetres where there is light vehicular traffic only. - SEAMLESS LOOK – It weathers at a natural rate alongside the block paving to ensure the finish remains consistent. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01JYXFRFG | | Best Sellers Rank | 4,376 in DIY & Tools ( See Top 100 in DIY & Tools ) 86 in Sealers | | Brand | Sika | | Colour | Buff | | Compatible Material | Concrete, Stone, Brick | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 2,592 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05055492700223 | | Included Components | 1 x Setting Sand Buff 20KG | | Item Dimensions | 48 x 32 x 18 centimetres | | Item Form | Liquid, Paste | | Item Highlight | Previously Known As Sika Setting Sand – Resists Weeds – Sets Hard – Moisture Curing | | Item Type Name | SIKA SETTING SAND BUFF 442722 | | Item Weight | 20 Kilograms | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 48 x 32 x 18 centimetres | | Item weight | 20 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Sika Everbuild | | Manufacturer Contact Information | Sika Everbuild 41 Knowsthorpe Way, Leeds LS9 0SW | | Manufacturer Part Number | SKSANDBF20 | | Material | Silicone | | Model Number | SKSANDBF20 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Warranty | No guarantee | | Style | Single | | Style Name | Single | | Surface Recommendation | Floor | | Unit Count | 20000.0 gram | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | | Water resistance level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Sika - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 48 x 32 x 18 centimetres - **Item weight:** 20 Kilograms - **Material:** Silicone - **Style:** Single ## Images ![SikaBlock Paving Fix For Narrow Paving Joints, Buff, 20kg - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ccRM36ZdL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How long has Sika Setting Sand lasted for you ? (any issues with weeds or grass)** A: I was renovating an old drive and patio. I spent a lot of time preparing the blocks. Cleaned and made sure the gaps were clean and ready to be re-sanded. Followed instructions to the letter. Found that no matter how much I tried to avoid a powdery residue being left on the blocks it would not shift. Sprayed with water to set the sand. When dry there was a distinct staining left behind. The sand even after 2 weeks has still not set in places ( even after rain) and weeds a now starting to show. Not what I expected at all. May work better on new work. **Q: How did you get the residue off? it’s been a few days and i can’t seem to shift it. do i pressure wash it off?** A: You need to brush off before you add water. I presume you will have to pressure wash now, however, that might take it all out. **Q: What is the width measurement suitable for this product** A: Hi, Joints have to be 2-5mm wide & 25mm Depth Kind Regards Benjamin Elsworth Building Plastics Direct **Q: I am laying 100 x 200 x 50 blocks what area will the sand cover** A: Hi, one bag will cover approximately 16mΒ² @ 25mm deep. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the effort to follow the instructions. *by R***M on 16 August 2026* Sika is a leading brand in construction, therefore I knew this would be a quality product I could trust.
