ICO: Limited Edition (PS2)

It is so hard to understand the lack of popularity of this little masterpiece (low sales). After all these years I have bought this game just to check if it is still that terribly engaging... I know that some games were very entertaining few years ago but now they are.. at least "not-that-great" (old game mechanics etc.).Can believe it or not but this game plays as good as before. Of course the graphics do not look that great on LCD monitors like on old CRT ones but still if you are more about outstanding atmosphere and beautiful story than HD visuals - it is a must have in your ps2 library.

Not a review of the game, but the package was received broken and missing the art cards. The only reason I'm not putting down a 1 star review is because it delivered on time.

Although Ico isn't the longest of games all the 6-7 Hours I spent playing were filled with with an equal balance of fun and challenge. The story is very minimalist and takes a background seat leaving the game-play to do the talking. a definite for anyone with a taste for adventure.

Anyone with a Playstation 2 should have this game as a staple. The graphics are absolutely staggering (especially the animation of background lighting) and the gameplay is captivating. One of those games where just running around exploring is fun, never mind getting through or around or over or under the obstacles. I played it right through in three days - but they were three fantastic days. :o)
