The rower arrives in small heavy box. It will require two people to lift the box and will require a small amount of assembly. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the rower was extremely well packaged. There are no moving parts inside the box. So nothing rubs on anything else and causes burn marks or paint chips.Once all the parts are laid out, I found it very easy to follow the included printed manual instruction book. An exploded diagram of each stage is shown. You can clearly see which side of the frame to insert the bolt on and where each washer should be placed. All of the bolts and washers come on a piece of card with a number next to each of them. The instructions tell you which number bolt you will require for tha5 stage and how many are required. It’s as easy as that. I took my time and assembled in an confined area in 1 hour but in reality you could easily assemble it in 15 minutes. The manual suggests two people build the rower but I built it on my own without any issues.Adding water to the rower is very easy. There are no resistanc3 controls on the rower itself. The more water you add, the more resistance there will be. There are six levels of resistance in total. The rower comes with its own funnel and hose to put straight int9 the top of the water tank. There is also a siphon hand pump included. You place the symphony into a bucket of tap water and use the hand pump to pump the water out of the bucket and up into the funnel. There is an water level indicator on the side of the tank. You must not overfill or you void your warranty. I found the dark tinted colour of the tank difficult to see the water level inside the tank as I filled it but it is visible. Once you have filled it, just add one purification tablet. The tablets are supplied. Just add one tablet every six months. I filled the tank to level 3 and tested the resistance. Eventually I filled the tank to level 5 which is much better for me. To empty the tank just place the siphon pump inside the tank and pump the water back out into the bucket.The rower has an battery operated adjustable screen. It is not backlit but is visible in a well lit room. The screen is a bit far away for me as I require glasses for reading but do not want to train with them on. So the screen is a bit fuzzy to me but if your eyes are fine you will be ok. The rower lifts up easily into an upright position for storage and has an remarkably small footprint. Very neat design feature. It has an padded foot on the back of the rower, so when you stand it up, it will rest on the foot without damaging the rower. The seat is nicely padded and moves freely.The rower performs very well. The seat rolls back and fourth easily. The polycarbonate seat rollers on the painted steel frame are a little noisy for me. The sound of the water in the tank as you row is very nice though. I was amazed at just how quiet this rower is. The foot straps are sturdy and comfortable. The rower is so sturdy. It did not bend or buckle at all as I used it. I weigh 90kg and am 6’ 4” tall and found it very comfortable to use. I need to reposition one of the electrical wires. How I currently installed it, the wire for the display screen rubs on the strap as I row and may wear through but I will reposition this.Overall I love it! Great price, looks really good in my gym and so easy to use. It’s very robust and will clearly last a long time in my opinion.
