Review: Best Grow Lights for Your Buck! - First, let me start with the disclaimer that I live in NY and grow cannabis within the legal limits as well as abide by any other cannabis related laws in New York. Now for the fun part. I wish had taken before an after photos because my cannabis plant was 1/3 this size 2 weeks ago before I added two xs2500pro lights to my 4x4 A/C Infinity grow tent. She is approaching 3 feet now and over 18 inches wide. I’ve not done see any LST with her and I just started wind training her. My grow tent is located in a spare room equipped with a window a/c unit. My tent is ventilated by a 395cfm exhaust fan with an optional intake fan located on the bottom. I also have the tent equipped with an oscillating fan. I am currently running my lights at %50 and %40 (for the smaller plants. The light temp runs on average at 85F degrees at these settings. The drivers just outside the tent run at about the same temp. They can be easily touched with no harm from the heat whatsoever. These lights are incredibly bright even at %50. I have the drivers located outside the tent which I do recommend doing. I also purchased two inline switches so I am able to turn the lights off completely. That’s a personal choice. I can say reliably that they do make a huge difference because the size of my largest cannabis plant exploded in just two weeks after more than a month under ”economy” lights. The light distribution seems to be very even. (I’ll update this review once I test the par map). So far, I am incredibly impressed with performance of the factory tested par map and I’ve not seen another manufacture with this uniform of a par map at this price and size. They use quality genuine Samsung LED’s and a Sosen driver. They are not the 301b or 301h LED’s, as far as I know, but I personally don’t care. Efficiency isn’t an issue for me as I am a small grower. My main concern is performance and these lights more than accomplish my performance goals 10 fold. Instillation is fairly easy. A few screws, a couple hooks and 2 ratcheting pulleys later, you’re done. I like the dimming options available, however my only issue here is that the nob does not line up well with the section your dimming. I actually count the steps from %0 to be certain I am at the desired level. I don’t know if it’s a defect or if they are deliberately made that way. I have no way to take my lights down and send them back for an exchange anyhow. I highly recommend these lights for a 2x4 grow or two of them for a 4x4 grow. If you know what you’re doing, they treat your plants right. Start by dialing it back one notch than recommended in the manual. Dial it up as needed according to plant performance or size. Little ones are very sensitive until they have a few nodes for the most part. Make sure you buy a good temperature/RH meter so you can spot test your plants and their locations individually to ensure the climate is correct for your variety of cannabis your growing. Not all cannabis varieties like the same conditions. If you’re growing other things, I would still say the same. Install the drivers outside of the tent to reduce heat and make your tent is well ventilated with a solid exhaust system. For anyone wondering about the more technical aspects, my entire system runs at less than 5 amps. Home break box 15amp circuits can handle that just fine if you aren’t running it on a circuit with a TON other things or anything heavy duty like an appliance. My a/c is on the same circuit with it, for example, giving me a total circuit load of approximately 9amps. If you prefer to be able shut them all the way off, grab an inline switch from desertcart for like $20. It’s an easy and cheap solution. I bought two 3 foot green light up ones from Mestek that plug directly into the power supply and split off, giving me an independent switch that is still technically inline. The driver plugs directly into the switch which is plugged into the power supply. I hope this helps anyone considering these awesome lights. I wish more growers would see how much value they have as they are superior to almost every other light out there in this size category. They absolutely outperform them based on my experience and homework. And I have done a ton of homework. Happy Growing! EDIT: One year later and they are still going strong. Tested the par map and color spectrum with the Mammoth Lighting spectrometer/par meter, and the given par map in a 4x4 space is confirmed accurate. These were the old XS2500pro lights which now have been replaced by the XS3000pro lights. They look nearly identical, but I have not personally tested the XS3000pro lights.
Review: Good light - I think the light works really well however I like the 100w better myself due to the color tone but the plants like both I think. I think the fact it does not have an off is annoying especially considering the lower wattage and cost one does which is odd. I use a timer so it’s not that big of a deal but it might be to some. It doesn’t get hot, it functions well, it’s plenty bright and the size is good for the space I use it for too. It’s super easy to set up right out of the box and comes with adjustable hangers too. Other than the lack of the off option and the tone it puts out (compared to my many other ones) it’s still a good light at a good price(at the time I bought it). I’d buy it again but not at the current price and would opt for the 100w one over this one. Vipraspectra makes good grow lights though that are solid, a good value for what you get and reliable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good light

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I am impressed with the high PAR levels produced by this small grow light.
*by J***. on December 31, 2025*

I was looking for a small LED grow light to supplement lighting for the end of a 5-foot shelf since most lighting will cover only 4 feet. This small plant light is almost overkill for my lighting needs on this shelf. This light is extremely bright when set to 100%, but most important is the quality of the light which is measured with a PAR meter. This light is on a shelf that I am growing cherry tomato bushes which require full sun for at least 12 hours. I have found the PAR levels for this light to be far superior to other small LED lights I have had. So, what do I like about this grow light? 1) In addition to being very bright, the PAR levels produced are excellent. When set at 50% and 13" above the plants, the PAR level is 747 which is more than enough for the cherry tomato plants. 2) The intensity of the light is easily adjustable with a dial on the end of the light. This mean that the intensity of the light can be adjusted for seedlings, or small to large plants without having to adjust the height of the light. If you prefer to adjust the height of the light, pulley are included with this light. 3) The cord length is plenty long to reach an electrical outlet and an extension cord can be used to extend it. 4) This plant light works perfectly with a timer. 5) This light can be daisy chained to another light to cover larger areas which eliminates the need to find an outlet for each light. 6) A supplied dimming cable can be used to control the light intensity of all lights on the chain from one light. 7) The light from this plant light penetrates the leaf canopy to encourage new plant growth below the canopy. 8) This light is extremely easy to set up and use. 9) This light provides more consistent PAR readings even on the outer edges of the lighted area. I am currently using 3 of these lights on a 2' x 5' plant shelf to provide lighting for bush tomato plants, and have installed them so the longer side is perpendicular to the side of the shelf. So this light sufficiently lights the 2' width of the shelf. By spacing them on the 5' shelf, the crossover lighting of the lights equalizes the lighting to the plants. Considering the height of these plants, I have all of them set at 60% which saves on electricity. Since these light penetrate the plant canopy, I am seeing a lot of new growth on the plants within a couple of weeks. UPDATE 03/09/26: Since my initial review, I have bought 6 more of these lights to cover 2 shelves on a 5' 2' shelving unit. I have all 6 lights daisy chained, so only one plug goes into my timer. Since these lights do turn off by turning the light intensity dial to 0%, I can use each of these lights individually as needed. I plan to use this shelving unit to grow 6 bussing tubs of beets that I have started in one tub. At the height these lights are set, these plants will initially get 500 PAR of lighting while they are small which should be sufficient for seedling. As the plants grow and get taller, I will need to turn down the light intensity percentage. I am looking forward to a great harvest of beets and beet greens in about 4-5 months that will last us for a couple of years. I love that I can control the light intensity with a dial rather than having to physically raise and lower the lights. I have added pictures of my beet plants before transplant and the 5' shelf with the lights installed. I hope this review was helpful for you.
