Delightful and Fun Read-Aloud
"The Jolly Postman" was a staple of my childhood. One of my grade-school teachers read it aloud to us and I was enchanted by the "letters" in the book! I'd never heard of *this* book, however, and it is amazing. It is truly hilarious, especially if you use voices when you read it to your kids and feel comfortable doing a British accent. We love ALL the versions and the ways they overlap with each other. The pop-up elements are low-key compared to "The Jolly Postman" but delightful nonetheless.

An incredible, magical book
My four year old adores this book. The Allsburgs are incredible at creating magical books that young readers will treasure for a lifetime. I bought it because at 37, I still remember how magical the Jolly postman was. My son goes around now saying “who’s snoopering in my woodootog!” It’s a delight!

Bravo!
We are that slightly odd artsy family that is very picky about children's books. You should know as a parent going in, whatever book you buy, you WILL be reading a gazillion times. A night. So why not pick a book that you both might enjoy? This book has it all! It's just the right amount of ridiculous. Loved it all the way through! It has a fun vocabulary too!

Goldilocks Plus
This clever Goldilocks pop-up book will delight children and the adult readers. It comes from the UK so it has a little twist that most Americans will enjoy. In the book, other stories are referenced so a background on Snow White, Three Pigs, Red Riding Hood, Mother Goose, will be helpful. There is a little book within a book--a play. It my copy the third act which is attached to pop-up was in upside-down. I do not know if this was intensional on the part of the author or not?Charming and youngsters will love the book.

Fun book'
Wow! What a fun book! The Ahlbergs might have outdone themselves on this one. I got this for a 4 yr old who couldn't stop laughing, giggling, and loving the surprise pop-ups. This is a fun book for kids and an entertaining read for the adults who read it to them.

This book is a very fun and interactive book
This book is a very fun and interactive book. Better for children beyond the age of book destruction! We found it at the library and my son begged Santa to buy him it in his letter.

Well made little kids book
Lovely little story book that's well made and can take a fair bit of abuse. The parts all move smoothly and are pretty sturdy.

A truly wonderful book. Excellent for teaching! Children will enjoy very much.
I stumbled upon this book by accident and it really is fantastic. This book tells the tale of "Goldilocks and The Three Bears" in several different ways."Goldilocks and the 33 Bears" introduces a character change in that there are 33 bears as opposed to the traditional 3 bears."Goldilocks and the Bliim" uses a change in time and to some extent, setting. It is almost like a parallel universe. The author uses different words for things like "egg" and includes a dictionary to help translate between the english words and alien words."Goldilocks and The Furniture" is the story of Goldilocks told from the perspective of the furniture. A very clever twist. As well as the wonderful twists and takes on the traditional tale of Goldilocks, like other books by the same author (The Jolly Postman), there are lots of pull out and pop up features. There is even a book within the book - a further twist on Goldilocks - written as a playscript. If you are a teacher, this book is perfect for modelling how to change or "innovate" stories with a familiar structure. If you are a parent/carer, it is also a lovely book to just enjoy reading. There is so much that you can get out of it.

This is beautiful book which plays very cleverly on the Goldilocks story
This is beautiful book which plays very cleverly on the Goldilocks story. My grandson who is 5,loves the humour in the stories and the tabs to pull but most of all he loved the Bliim and was very intrigued by the idea of making up a new language, since reading it we have been making up silly (Bliim) words for everyday objects. As an adult, I really appreciate how Allan Ahlberg can write a fun entertaining story, which also introduces children to the idea of creativity. His other book The Pencil had the same effect as Oliver was fascinated by the idea, that what the pencil drew, became part of the story.Reading this book also sent us straight to the bakery afterwards, the repeated message 'Bears Love Buns' was too much for us. We loved the book,we loved the buns.

Beautiful book
This is the second copy of this book I've bought. My 3 year old son loves the little stories, illustrations and pull tabs so much I've bought a copy for a friends little girl as a birthday present. Beautiful book I'd definitely recommend it.
