Super magic fun again
My 5 year old loves this quirky series of books and it's a great bedtime read. Always plenty to look at on the page and great humour in the stories. Another great story.

Super Happy Magic Forest 3 (not 2)- another hit
Why the Amazon listing currently describes this as the second book in the series, I don’t know, because we know full well it’s the third. We should know, because the first two- the original Super Happy Magic Forest book and the real second book Slug Of Doom- were *huge* hits in our house, getting more requests for re-reading than any other book and with some of the lines getting memorised and regurgitated as catchphrases. They really struck a chord with our kids. And although a year or so has passed and I thought they might have grown out of it, this third book is another smash. It’s got the same sense of humour, and in many ways is just a re-run of Slug Of Doom with some new jokes, more snow and fewer slugs, but it still works. There’s a handful of more grown-up references chucked in- like the gnome rip-off of Gandalf saying he looks forward to the heroes’ status updates, or the medieval inn that requests positive feedback on Quest Advisor- but it’s still suitable for all ages and the extra details thrown into each page will keep a variety of different readers interested on different levels. The spotting of three will-o-the-wisps is a nice extra touch too.We are big fans of this book, as the third part of a trilogy it doesn’t disappoint, and we’re going to continue picking up Matty Long books for the foreseeable future, until (or slightly beyond) the point where our kids are old enough to think it’s childish, which hopefully won’t be for a while.

Not as good as previous titles
I baught the first book in Waterstones several years ago, and this became a firm favourite, and is still read at age nine. The characters and detail of the drawing mean that we often spot new things, and it never fails to make us laugh. The new book, I believe the third in this series, lacks the same detail and charm for me, and I was disappointed with the lack of funny little characters on the pages with comical comments. That said I would like to than Matty for giving myself and my daughter so much fun.

The Times Children's Book of the Week
I bought Matty Long's new book after reading the excellent review by Alex O'Connell in Saturday's Times in which he awarded Super Frozen Magic Forest children's book of the week. The latest book in the Magic Forest series sees the heroes in a land of ice and snow with beautiful illustrations as well as clever and funny dialogue which will be appreciated by adults and children alike. Children will especially enjoy searching for the hidden Will O Wisps hidden in the illustrations. A marvellous book which will undoubtedly be a children's favourite at Christmas.

Different to the usual kids books!
So different from any other kids books on the market, appealing for adults and kids alike! Very humorous, I am hoping they will encourage a dyslexic 8 year old to enjoy reading to his younger brothers.

Brilliant
These books are fantastic! When reading, if a character says they’ve lost something you then have to find it on the page which increases your child’s interest. Definitely recommend

fun and frolics
Another fun story book by Matty Long. My son loves the books, he spends ages looking at all the detail on each page.
