Excellent reference
I am not a full time BJJ guy, but rather focused on practical self defense. That said, BJJ is naturally something that is important in that world as well. My grappling training is solid, but I felt it was somewhat old school, and I know things are constantly evolving in this field. So basically I wanted to read something with more up to date material and tactics. The book absolutely doesn’t disappoint. The only other book that comes close is of course Jiu Jitsu University. And while that one is a modern classic and covers a greater depth of material, this one is simpler to follow and features some wonderful maneuvers that I hadn’t seen before. I am especially happy with the stand up techniques. There are some very simple yet highly effective bits there that I’ve immediately adopted. And that mount escape! When you see it and try it, you’ll fall in love-you’ll know which one when you run across it. Anyway, books about fighting can be really hit or miss, but rest assured that this one has something useful for everyone at any stage of development. Also, the writing style and humor are much appreciated in a genre that is often bone dry. Highly recommended!

Very good reference book
Perfect when you want to lookup some technique or just want to browse among the techniques. It has nice colored pictures. For me it would feel a bit boring to read the book cover to cover. Sometimes its a bit hard to follow along what happens just by looking at the pictures, but if I’m not mistaken there are video tutorials available. The book was well worth the money!
